Ok, so I know that FBT uses the Apexi SAFC (which I know nothing about), but I just saw the vendor announcement for their Hyper ECU, which sounds like they are launching it for half price during MTTS.
MTTS is quite a bit out of the way for me, but if someone (please!) can fill me in on this in time, I'd be willing to make the drive up to get the hook-up.
So anyone have any info on this product? $300 for a good ecu product is pretty darn good.
Yeah, I even talked to Tim in Vegas and Flagstaff with no mention made. And my wife was out of town so I could have spent $300 without her knowing it! Um...did I say that out loud?
Tim...you gonna extend the offer a little? I'll be in LA next month.
^ Thank you! I'd love to hear what FBT has to say about this product. For a ECU reflash, $300 is pretty reasonable, but being able to customize parameters would be a priority for a good number of us.
but they had enought time to make a post with almost no info in it! Now, that's marketing!
Matt
Almost like a MINI-themed Woot BOC or MacZot MysteryZot.
We're not going to tell you anything about it, but it's really awesome and at a really great price. (and only for those people who are on the last legs of MTTS! West Coasters, SOL! )
Isn't FBT on the road with the MTTS crew? If so, that would make Internet access a bit sketchy at best and explain the lack of immediate response.
The Wired Magazine bus that is doing the entire trip gives everyone open net access. Stoopidgirl is doing her MotorTrend blog from the road. Net access is most definately doable.
And the Fireballed site still says the hyper ECU is "coming soon".
It's actually still a very viable option for a unintrusive and highly tunable setup. Not to mention it's a whole lot easier to turn it off if it seems to be causing problems. Can't really turn off an ECU flash too easily.

but it only does A/F stuff.
Also, if you've ever been an MTH customer, you already have the stuff to re-load the stock map!
