Remote flashing huh, that sounds interesting. What if you set-up like a Fireballed! Hyper-ECU Party and flew in to a dyno and flashed several cars in the same day or weekend??

Well not really. We don't want Agro looking like a tourist, driving around Hollywood looking for 405. Just Map-Quest it. You'll be better off.

Hey Brian, what is the return policy on the ecu tuning?

i.e. How many seconds/minutes/days after you guys doing it can I change my mind and say nevermind?

If it's a silly question then just ignore it.

But I AM a tourist. Sokay. We ***** about the damn California drivers here in Vegas. I'm staying in Hollywood coz someone else is paying for the hotel. I won tickets to see Tom Petty at the Hollywood Bowl and 2 nights at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. It included 2 plane tickets, but I cashed them in and am driving instead.

Haha, maybe BahamaBart and DarkMiniCooperS will join in on the fun. Their close as well. Would 4 be enough?

Anyways, back on topic...

Brian, a couple of questions. Will the redline be adjustable? (Could there be a rev limit while under 3mph, so that it could be used for launching? ) Will the speed governor be eliminated? Will the idle be adjustable? What would happen if say a month or two after I flashed my car with your software I upgraded my injectors, would a new flash be free? And, will it once again need to be done on the dyno?

P.S: In all seriousness, I am definitely going to be saving up for the chip. Are the possibilities high in terms of setting up a date on a dyno for several cars to be flashed? And, would the price still be the introductory $300? nod:

THANKS!

"if" for whatever reason it f'd it up it would just be flashed back to stock, but I have never seen that happen.

Heard this before. Can't give us any numbers or what else has been changed. Rev limit? Top speed limit?

And what happens "if" the car starts running like crap, where will we "out of towners" go to have it flashed back to stock? The Dealer? Who is gonna pay for that?

I wish MDSBrain the best of luck tomorrow with his flash. I hope it turns out great.

I do have faith in this product... these guys have the fastest mini out there, period, so they must know a little sumthin. Sadly, I'm tied up this weekend and can't give it a go during the MTTS tour itself.

Fireballed Team... I guess at this stage I'd like to know if/how I could take advantage of this ecu flash while being virtually stuck in Norfolk, VA. Is there some laptop interface that will work ala MTH type product, or perhaps a fixed product ala Shark injector? Numbers will only matter on a before after dyno on my car, so I'm not going to bug out on that garbage. It'll either work really well, or it won't! Knowing the rep of Tuls, I'm more than willing to give it a shot.

Regards

Thanks for your support! Unfortunatly we cant do anything without the car, I hope we will have the solution to this problem soon but no guarantees

Rev limit, top limit, fuel ald all th eother normal things can be changed along with other stuff. I wish I could say but if I did everyone else would know what what we have done and could duplicate it.

For the "if" have ou heard of a software flash all of a sudden causing problems with the car running down the road? I havent, I guess we would address that problem "if" it were to happen, we stand behind everything we do !

I am really sorry you feel that way, I hope after a few have been done and the owners post their impressions you may feel differently.

The best tune will always be done on a dyno, that is the only way to tailor the software to your cars specifics, the rev limiter and speed limiter can be set without problem.

Flashed and put about 200 miles on the car since. Difference? Hard to say yet as I sat in traffic alot on I-95 rather then much fun feeling the added performance.

The flash was done with a program different then MTH's. I hope to report more in the coming days. But the tuner Jason said, the tuning is primarly just the a/f ratio because the timing is so advanced already.

While the product may be relatively unknown at this point, you can easily check out the reputation and integrity of the Fireballed tuners. I don't think it would be easy to impugne Dr. Fuh's reputation in the tuner community.

BTW Brian, can you give us an answer on whether or not a free update period is included (dealer reflash correction, added/subtracted parts)?

Thanks, Mark

I'm very interested to hear what your opinion is after you take the car out tomorrow. I know that you have have both Unichip and MTH in the past and hope you can use the experience you have with them to supplement this review. Now. GET TO BED!

I'm in no real hurry.
I keep thinking about what you stated earlier, about the software that is currently available having it's pros and cons.
I just found out the other day that a friend of mine who owns a tuner/mod shop does Unichip now, and is able to dial it right in on his DynoDynamics dyno.
or,
I could also visit Don at Precision for the MTH, I wonder if he has the facility to do a custom tune.

MTH is a semi-custom tune done using maps developed on similarly configured MINI's. As I understand it, they have a pretty extensive number of maps to choose from though. I think a true custom dyno-tuned map is unavailable from them since the tuning files are done in Germany.

It's good to see more options for true custom tuning enter the market as it's an underdeveloped (IMHO) area for bigger power/mph gains for our favorite cars.

Yes, I offer custom MTH tuning. You can read about it on my web site.
Dynos are not used for dialing in purposes (especially the type of dyno all but a few tuners use). They are used to get you in the ball park. Very few dynos and dyno facilities have the ability to simulate real word conditions -- and that is where you dial in your tune.

It would be nice if some company would offer their package so that end users could tune their own cars......
