GIAC Mobile Tuner

Anyone have a copy of GIAC's Mobile Tuner?
Im looking to download a copy but GIAC doesnt seem to have it on their website anymore.

Im looking for a program in which i can tweak some of the channel values of my GIAC software. The startup fuel amount is a little low, i would like to increase that some to solve some cold starts.

If anyone has a link or a zip file that would be great. Also, anyone have any experience using the Mobile Tuner? I use Lemmiwinks to tweak my 1.8T Unitronic ECU and its great. Definetly would be worthwhile to have this capability on the Cooper.

On cold starts, are you getting a chug-chug-chug when your idle rpm drops below 1k?

I don't think it works on the Mini

but I'm not sure. I've never heard of anyone using it for our cars.

yeah i get the chug chug chug, stop......need to restart the car...

i had this with stock programming as well as chipped.
This used to happen in my GTI due to a lack of fuel at warmup and startup. Simple tweaks of the adaptive channels for warmup and startup solved the issue. I was hoping to do the same to the MINI.

Screen shot of Lemmiwinks which is what i use to fine tune the 1.8T ECU to suit my needs. (to note, this is far from custom tuning, more like "tweaking")

i think GIAC decided not to go that route with the mini. I think it was their intention to do so but never went through with it.

Which sucks big time...

if they had, they'd have a lot more Mini customers....

Sad to say, there's no hacking SW out that is end user accessible yet.

Boo hoo hoo!

My 05 (see mods below, GIAC among them) does this sometimes (maybe every 15th start or so) but a quick tap of the gas pedal and it settles fine. It did it with the stock map too though...

I started having the chug-chug problem on idle when the gas in my area switched to using Ethanol as the additive. This was before I had any performance mods (except for a pulley). After I got the GIAC file, the chugging was pretty bad... not just on cold starts but it also chugs just a little when the car is warm sitting at a stoplight. Eric from Helix looked into this for me and it seems that Mini USA attributes the problem to the higher octane of the gas after the conversion to the ethanol additive. Their solution: use lower octane gas. I'd love the ability to raise the idle speed from 700 to about 1000.

use lower octane gas huh? Thats a new one.......

I experience the same issues you mentioned above. Especially the hard chug at a stop light.

I just heard back from GIAC and Mobile Tuner is no longer available. I bet if i can get a copy I can get it to work with the MINI as its just looking for adaptive channels. its really a benefit to have for my Volkswagen. keeping my fingers crossed that I can get something for the MCS.
