Drivetrain hartge & ggr review by CCC megazine march issue
I don't know, it sounds like the performance figures were close to eachother and the only huge complaint was the exhaust, which I wouldn't buy anyway. The cost is the other complaint, which would be fixed without buying the exhaust. Case closed - they're the same
I don't want to be a bummer, but those numbers for the GGR kit haven't held up in independent testing. In addition to the Superchips Programme and the pulley (which is what the GGR kit is) to get to 207 the car required a throttle body, an intake, a header with high-flow cat, and the Magnaflow.
I haven't seen many honest horsepower claims yet - from any tuner really. I think that can be verified through other folks doing the testing. It seems that Hartge is the closest in their numbers.
I have used quite a bit of cash and time researching the software options only to be dissapointed. I wish the numbers were true, as I have all of the programming hardware here, and can't honestly sell it in good conscience. I think most of you know we are developing a relationship with APR, and at the very least, if they can read the code, I know they will 1. be able to get the most out of the ECU tuning possible and 2. tell me the truth about what that possibility is. You guys will be the first to know!

... sounds like we are all getting all that they had and then some by doing our own pullys, exhausts, intakes and such. I found it to be all good news but also a reason to just keep doing what many of us are, installing top quality components in our vehicles without being subjected to a "kit" or it's limmiting factors.
randy, did you order the ggr pulley & the superchip program from ggr uk direct and then do the testing without other modifications to your car and not getting the power they claimed??? how much hp/torque off???
if you do, i think i can then use your findings to get a full refund from ggr.
is the ggr ecu program exactly the same as the program you get from superchips usa??? coz hartge ecu claimed they must use 98 octane fuel in order to get that 210hp and i'm not sure if ggr uk needs the same 98 octane fuel in order to get 207hp. (what octane fuel did u use when u did the dyno)
i really wanna prove that the ggr software & pulley kit (s200) is the same as the ones that you used for dyno then i'll have enough evidence to prove that they're misleading / lying / wrong to their customers.......and i'll get my money back.
tks.

SMG,
I responded in the other thread, but I'll mention it here too. I do have the GGR Superchips software, but I have my own 15% reduction pulley (which is what they use as well). I know that with the mods I have, I am getting 208 hp on average and 175 ft/lb on average (at the flywheel). That includes a high flow cat and header, a larger throttle body, and intake, and the Magnaflow. If you pulled the other stuff off, you would lose a significant amount of power - and then wouldn't even be close to the GGR numbers.
The Octane issue is one of conversions. The 98 octane you have there is the same as the 93 octane we have here. That's what I have always used in the car.
I hope that helps.

How do you get a hold on 93 octane fuel? All they offer around here is 87/89/91 octane. However this IS California and taxes are obscene. Does Mobil or a company like that offer 93 everywhere? Hope someone can give me some info on this.
Thanks for the post SMG - new info is always welcome!

Out here on the east coast we have 93 and Sunoco has 94 octane as well as 93. I know Mobil, Texaco, Exxon and Sunoco all have 93 out here on the east coast. I tend to look for Sunoco both because my future sister-in-law works for them and they have the 94 octane. Otherwise I fill up with 93 from Texaco because it's right around the corner from where I live.
