I've been a bad...baaad...boy (DFIC)

Yes, arrived in Copper Mountain for the last day of MitM and I get hijacked by my "colleagues" from the NM MINI club telling me there's a DFIC for sale over at that DS/DS MCS. Suffice to say, an economic transaction later and I now have a DFIC, with ceramic coating, diverter and hood scoop. Aargh--this was not supposed to happen! But once I got it in my hands, there was no saying no. Well, I'd thought about one for Christmas, so in Colorado, Christmas comes in August.
Let's see if I can get that scoop painted by the time MTtS comes to Albuquerque. That will make 2 DFICs in the NM MINI club to highlight the local talent when the 350+ MINIs/Minis come to the special track event being put on by the local dealer (Sandia MINI) and the club. Can't wait.

Sorry, you can tell I'm excited...
Woohoo!

Congrats on your DFIC!

Just painted my scoop tonight. Drying now... The white gelcoat actually looked pretty sharp with the white mirror caps and roof, so I decided to paint it white. I'm thinking of getting one more scoop from M7, and paint it black, just so that I have a couple of options...

Dang, how cool is that!? White as the permanent base, and go black whenever I have the urge... Thanks obe.

I actually saw a clear coat reflective spray at The Home Depot today, and almost got a can. It's meant for things like mailboxes, fence posts and other things you'd want to avoid hitting at night. Thought it might look pretty neat to have the hood scoop be reflective at night. Wonder what that would look like? For 6 bucks, someone can find-out....

Yeah, there are ways to do that....

check the Eastwood Co for metallic finish paints... Here's something I found googling around... http://www.h2ocycles.com/plasticchrome.php

wow, that's awesome, thanks for that matt.

One question though, since i live in australia, do you think i could organize M7 to send the scoop to these guys, then to me in aus?

Also, i couldn't find a definitive price, as they seem to only do bike parts....maybe i'll search around melbourne for someone that'd do a similar job....
