yup that was me! I certainly got a good price, but it means that not all the stuff will be there and i will need to spec out the stuff missing...which isnt too much of an issue, i wont be installing this for a month or so anyway... I will try to get some pics when i get it movin.

I just got a plx 250 which does wideband, as cliff said, is absolutely necessary if you want to do any type of DIY tuning... Does anyone have a list of all the parts that come with the kit?

You might want to ask Alta if they can send you a check list of all that you will need. Cliff @ Coast to Coast was great in helping me out with my kit. Here is my plans in 2 stages:

Stage 1:
*Alta Turbo Kit
*Alta Intercooler w/divider
*Auto Meter Wideband
*Blitz Turbo Timer

Stage 2:
*All of the above
*Electronic Boost Controller
*Alta Modified Fuel injectors
*Fuel Pump
*Apexi S-AFC Select

Already had the intercooler, Plug Wires, Exhaust, ect, ect

Yeah, i have a possible two stages, even maybe 3

I currently have the S-AFC, wideband, exhaust etc as well. I am contemplating going for just 16 psi at first and then move on to the 22psig with the larger injectors. Or just go for all of it right now! There are so many nice boost controllers but i think ill stick to a basic one for now. The third stage is an either/or situation. I really like Ryephile's turbo only setup, and really want to make it happen, i just dont know about specifying out all the turbo tubes and losing my A/C.
The other way would be reinforcing my pistons and doing a 28psi setup like Tuls/Spillman

So many choices and so little money...

Aloha right back at you!

What parts are you still waiting for?

Yes my idle is great, it has been a little tempermental in the extreme heat we had here, but I currently have the MINI parked as I am installing the Wilwood race brakes(thanks to Coast to Coast) & I have the mushroomed strut towers, so I replaced one side & I am waiting for the other strut tower guide support to arrive at my door.

I am still waiting for the part from Alta that I mentioned to you about, but once I get that, she will be back up and rolling...

Waiting

I'm still waiting for the polished DFIC, V.3 tube and Kodiakracing wheels That's alright cause my custom cabinet business is swamp for the last few month and I just don't have time and energy to play after. On the weekends I do installed on my customer cars and that's been nuts too By the time I finished my car the twin turbo kit should be out by then But Let's keep in touch

To answer both of your questions...

At 20lbs of boost on a stock engine other than injectors & Alta IC it produced 257 on my car. I have sinced set the boost up to 23lbs and now have about 30 more hp. It is a rocketship no doubt, but I am still tweaking the manner of the car. It is no longer cute to drive, if you go WOT you better have both hands on the wheel, as it tends to want to steer you off the road. I think this is more because of the quaife then the added hp, its just more noticable with more hp. When I installed the quaife before the turbo kit, I did notice the same issue albiet not as severe.

300hp on stock internals would be the limit and you would probably need to get into some head work to get to that point.

SpiderX, when you get your car back and up and running with the 62, I would love to compare drivability and dyno graphs and the such. I have a brother who lives in Atlanta & he has been bugging me to come down. So let me know when your car is once again in your hands.

Me too, I can't wait. At least my top end was done last year with Cosworth/injectors/cam/ported SC/PP runners/ags. Finished car will also have the DFIC too May be 300whp is possible with medium boost 18 to 20lbs.

Yes I did the install of the SAFC myself. It is pretty straight forward. I wouldnt advise it if you have never did any wiring before though. Only because it is your ECU you are messing with and not say a car stereo. I am using the Alta/Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump. I dont really think it is neccesary unless you are running 550cc injectors. The one thing I dont like about it is it doesnt sit as low in the fuel housing so it doesnt get the last remaining fuel in the tank. I found this out the hard way 3 times when I ran out of fuel. Now when I get to 1 bar I fill up, no more running another 50 miles!

I have to say I am kind of interested in this kit and when someone posted that they got it off eBay for 1800$, damn I'd buy it for that kind of money!

What do you NEED, other than what is in this kit? I'm guessing exhaust, but what else?

If you go with the basic kit, as I am doing for now. I will be using the following:

*Alta Turbo Kit
*Alta Intercooler
*Magnaflow Exhaust
*Ignition upgrade (Plugs, wires, coil pack)

This should get me started

Getting all my supplies together and thought I would call my local (50 miles away. ) BMW/MINI cooper dealer for the fluids and exhaust manifold gasket. Ouch...... Gasket was not to bad, $8.70, then came the Coolent, which was $19.70...ok thats a little high when Im used to paying $8.00 for Zerex or what ever the local auto parts place carries, then I get the price for the power steering fluid.... $26.00 OMG, Whats in this stuff???

Factory fluid prices are pretty ridicules but it's better safe than sorry. There is a vendor here on NAM that sells the o2 sim and I believe they can be bought from o2simulator.com. Fairly simple install and gets rid of converter code.

Thanks Cliff.... Just placed my order with o2Sim. After I ordered it, there seems to be ALOT of o2 sims going back, not from MINI's.(reading o2sim forum.) I hope mine will not be one of them....*LOL* Cliff, did you get a chance to get them pictures together?? LMK...
Thanks.
