Sorry for jumping in with an old question... I never got a clear answer on a different thread

How does modifying...cutting holes in the back of the engine bay, black plastic near the brake ? lines, on the passenger side, affect under bonnet heat ?

I dont know what it would do for underhood temps but it would have to raise the fluid temp in the brake system I would think. That bulkhead must have been put there for a reason.

Nice placement...

... are you going to leave the bracing underneath? and just nibble the sheetmetal?
EDIT: you answered my question while I was still typing...

Thanks I thought it was going to be too uncontrollable and tried a cut off wheel but that was just heating up the hood and going no where...the nibbler was too fast but I managed to maintain control long enough

Cool!
You definitely don't want the nibbler to get away from you. That just wouldn't be good.
Those holes look like a P-R-O-fessional cut them.

You did a great job! It looks so clean.

Yeah my nibbler has a mouthful of tic-tacs and doesn't do much damage.

Hey do me a favor,
can you snap a pic of the underside of the hood just behind your hole on the drivers side?
Thanks
EDIT: that's this pic...

You don't happen to have another pic like this showing this bracing all the way to
the back of the hood? on the drivers side.

Might as well make it two, to avoid having to come back later...

Instead of venting our frustrations on a board, we could have a real venting party!

I would never cut my thousand dollar hood for louvers. I just think it looks like they belong in the 80's on a dodge daytona, Delorean or 300z. No offence...
Other than that, You have a really nice car!

Looks good.

Curious about some before and after under hood temps.

Do you plan on some fabrication under the hood to direct some of the hot air out of the back side of the DFIC?
