Drivetrain headers-what do you have? which is best?
All of this best header generic talk in nonsense. All of the headers available to us will improve the MCS performance - some more hp oriented and others more tq oriented BUT they still all fall in a relatively narrow range.
The real question is which is the best header for your car and your driving needs. The dollars you spend is simply what one determines these additional hp/tq is worth AND you can afford.
You got a grand to spend - great, you have various choices. You got 200 bucks spend - well you have several choices as well.
I think the most important thing here is that many here at NAM have installed headers and have found positive gains = a header is a mod consideration.

You feel there is no comparison to a OBX + stock cat but you really having nothing to compare. You should not push others down in order to look tall.

$200 is the right number. Not much gain, a little better in the mid range with an OE head, much better with a head mod ( almost a must have mod ) but what are you getting in the +$1000 header? Stahl may be the best choice at $ = performance IMHO. It is the header I would buy if my car was not a DD. Loud is over, don't need it, had loud for many years, too many years, something to think about.
At $200 a pop & failure rate = every 3 years, I could live with that. Each replacement I could make some improvment.
Bottom line, the OE header is not that bad. This brings the question "which is best?" back to the table.
If "flex" is an issue & you don't want to upgrade MMs ( a little more buzz inside the car ), Megan looks pretty good.
"flex" is no issue, the new OBX is the answer.
Either way $200 or less. Cat = extra.
Exactly.......

From the pics I'v seen, last 2 years, they don't look like the header from a few years back. I have a friend with a + or - 3 year old OBX. I'm assuming this is the way it came from OBX ( the welds looked original ). The only difference I can see is the collector, much better bend & looks like a better flange. Other than that they look pretty much the same. Without the 2 in my hand, that's all I can tell you.
Later revision???
If the car was close by, a pic would nice but it's in Ohio then going to Fla till April.
