How can you tell if your MCS is equipped with LSD?

Do a nice long burnout. 1 tire mark= no lsd. 2 tire marks = lsd.

Check the original window-sticker invoice.

In general....

get the front wheels off the ground
take the transmission out of gear
spin one o fthe front wheels

If the car has LSD, then the other wheel will spin
in the same direction.

If the car does not have LSD then the other wheel
will spin in the opposite direction.

Other than something physical like these suggestions i was thinking more like option code sheet or list printed somewhere on the car.

I would imagine one of the characters in the VIN will tell you
but I don't have a decode for it. Ask the dealer.

I don't think the wheel spin method works with the quaife, which ceases it's limited slip action if one wheel is completely off the ground. anyone confirm?

You may be right on that one, jlm.... but, I'm not sure that the diff would interpret the presumably slow, small acceleration on the one wheel as slip... since it's mechanical, I'm pretty sure there's a threshold for intervening. Anyone?

How about starting with the easy one... When was your car built? Pre-Jan 05 build then you definately don't have the factory LSD. You can check the build date by looking on the plate mounted inside the drivers side door..

LOLOL @ ^^^^^. Hats off to ya, that's succinct and quite possibly more helpful than anything I had thought of. Much respect, d00d!
