Gear oil

I have a chance to score a bunch of Royal Purple products and was wondering what you guys think. My buddies car just blew up and he's go t pretty much a full case of Royal Purple 10W40 (maybe 10W30) synthetic oil, Royal Purple 75/90 gear oil and a few bottles of Purple Ice coolant additive.

I wouldn't usually bother with stuff like this but he said if I want them, take them. Any thoughts from anyone? What is the recommended gear oil for the Mini? I don't even know if 75/90 will work.

Isn't the stock MINI tranny oil like a 70w-80?

Have on guy in our club running Royal Purple Max Gear... he likes it so far...

To date, I have swapped mine before each autocross season with Redline MTL... I believe the MTL is closer to the MINI spec?

synchromax is for mt trannies. gear oil is for the rear end on rwd cars. 5w30 or 10w30 is good overall for mileage and hp. 10w40 starts to reduce both. RP's big selling point is shear strength. it is supposed to hold up and protect better than many others because of it. it is also a true synthetic.
