possible exhaust leak??

I dont know if i am paranoid or not but when i am WOT above 4000rpm, I hear a "whoosh"ing sound from the exhaust... I was wondering if this is normal. At first I thought it might be a boost leak, but I folded down my rear seats and its definatly coming from the exhaust (rear of the car not the front). Is this a normal noise?? or do i need to have my exhaust checked out. Before anyone says it, no the whooshing is not the wind, or the supercharger, or the screaming passengers . Here's what i have on the car:

JCW Tuning Kit, and thats about it

Thanks in advance.
very paranoid,
O

If you have a leak it will be heard at idle also. Small leaks make a ticking type of sound when the car is warm. The JCW exhaust uses slip fit joints with band clamps and this type of connection is prone to leaks. If you get down to ground level and watch the entire exhaust system after starting the car; condensation will drip from the poor fitting area (s). Small leaks are to be expected and are not of great concern. Whooshing sounds are another issue and if the leak is that large it will be easily observed by looking under the car at start-up.

Time to revive this thread...

After having a custom exhaust (single-sided, Magnaflow muffler, Magnaflow tip, 2.25" piping in between) put together for me by the local "mom & pop" exhaust shop, I'm getting the same whooshing noise at WOT after about 5000 RPM.

Any further insight into what this might be? There's no ticking at idle, and I haven't noticed any condensation.
