Cheapest price on Alta Intake TUBE ONLY?

Regretfully, when I purchased the awesome Alta cold air intake, I wanted to save some money, so I opted to get it WITHOUT the red silicone tube... As you can imagine, I now regret that.

Can you tell me where I can get one of these tubes, at the cheapest price?

I checked eBay, and they're going for $90 there... Can anyone beat that?

Thanks!

Anyone know if the Alta tube would go from the TB to the STOCK Cooper S airbox without any problems? I'm looking to replace the tube only on mine.

Well, i'm gonna say yes it would fit. Here's my reasoning, you can get the Alta CAI without the hose, meaning you use the stock hose. The Alta Silicone Tube is meant to fit to the CAI and so it should be the same size as stock if you can use either or with the Alta CAI...

It is $55 only if you get it at the same time that you buy
the CAI for $200. The tube by itself is more than $55.

I checked with Webb Motorsports, and as a stand-alone unit, the silicone tube is $99.00.

As for the Samco tube idea, I'm a bit skeptical of that. I've heard there enough of a problem connecting the actual ALTA tube to the throttle body and intake, let alone a tube from yet another manufacturer. Besides, would it have all the same bends in it as the ALTA tube? My guess is no.

Its listed as an induction hose for an MCS, so my guess would be yes. Why not call them or shoot them an email? Its a silicon tube, not a transmission - how hard could it be to get it to fit right?

And the tube will fit the JCW intake.

Except fot esthetic, what would be the advantage to get the Alta tube with a Alta CAI?

I have the Alta CAI without the tube, and love it.

Besides looking cool the tube provides greater airflow and fewer obstacles for the fresh air to travel though. In theory, replace the ribbed stock tube with a smoother tube and you will yeild higher gains in power.

Actually, the real gain in the hose comes from the size. The stock ID is 60mm, while the Alta is 68mm. There is only one accordian fold in the stock rubber, so it isn't that much of an obstruction - though any smoothing certainly helps.

We sell the hose for $90 alone - 89.99 in marketing speak .

Hope that helps!
Randy
