Question...

I have a 2005 Hyper Blue MCS and have a quick question. I had an alta 19% pulley installed and an alta intake. after the intake was installed which was a second and later installation from the pulley, now my service engine light comes on when i drive the car hard. if i dont drive it hard after the car has been shut off and restarted the light will turn itself off. I just want to know if anyone knows what the problem is and if they know how to fix it. The car runs fine its just the light that pops on and bothers me lol. Thanks for the help guys/gals.

Sounds like you need to read the fault code on the OBD. Something similar to this happened with a vacuum leak when we installed a leaky air system on the car. Do you hear any whistling or high pitched noise? Go over the work. Check your air filter for leaks and make sure the belt is tight.

Go to autozone (when the light is on) , they have a OBD tool that they'll get the code for you, from there you can look up the code to see what the issue is, they might have it Bently Manual or http://www.minitechinfo.com/ or ask/search on NAM. Then you can fix the issue and have the OBD reset so there is no more SES light.
Side note: This sounds familiar and those are fairly common mods, from doing a search or two on NAM you will likely find someone who has had the same issue and know how they resolved it.

Welcome to the world of over boost. Your Manifold Pressure Sensor is prob throwing the CEL code P0108 which is caused by it reading an over boost signal....You will get this all the time and theres nothing that i know of that can be done. The CEL "LIGHT" will reset after a few cycles of the key but you will still have a code stored.

Over boost was a common problem on the Turbo Kompressor cars until one of the manufacturers found a way to get rid of the fault code. But I find it hard to believe you are over boosting in Colorado. Where in Colorado are you? If you are in the Denver area, feel free to come by the shop and have us look at it for you. We will diagnose the problem for free if you can’t figure it out yourself.

Same thing here, happens @ or about redline. 15% pulley here & Shark ECU - which sets redline up 400 RPM... I was figuring this was my culprit.

When i say over boost i mean that the manifold pressure sensor which is calibrated to see stock boost #s will throw when you go over that. i just learned to deal with it as its a normal thing on my car. I get this all the time and was told by Volker @ MTH that he cant change it.....He also said i should use 2 head gaskets.....I had no comment to that.
