I <<HEART>> the BatMINI

Yeah that's right - I actually had more fun driving WagnBat's MINI yesterday than I did mine - maybe it's because he has the following FUN mods -

-=- Alta Cold Air Intake
-=- Alta Short Shift Kit
-=- Whalen Shift ****
-=- Alta Oil Catch Can
-=- Alta Air Diverter
-=- Alta 22mm Rear Swaybar
-=- Milltek Performance Headers
-=- Milltek Cat-Back Exhaust

I gleefully giggled last time i drove his car when he has first installed his first mod the Alta Cold Air Intake - since then he's added the rest of the above-mentioned mods. Holy CRAP! Compared to my 05 MCS with the following mods -

-=- Garrett ECU Software
-=- 15 percent Helix Pulley
-=- JCW Intake

Mine is pretty mild - although strangely just as fast. I don't know if it's the marginal difference between the 17" run flats on Will's car and 16" non-run flats on mine and ecu software and pulley.

As far as aural sensations - Wagnbat's car blows mine away - burbling and farting around in town in Capitol Hill the Milltek exhaust sounds fantastic! The stock exhaust sounds kind of tame compared to the Milltek. Same goes for the Alta intake compared to the JCW intake.

As Will said - my car is "ssshhhhhh quiet" whereas his is "LOUD FAST!"

It was pretty fun taking it around on my favorite road in Mclean, VA (Kirby Road) getting to see what the LSD and beefier rear sway bar could do around some familiar roads that I've driven in a variety of different cars.

Kudos to Will for cobbling this effort together with the BatMINI. I'm looking forward to seeing what else he's going to do to it. Now if he could get that short-shi(f)ter fixed.... :-)

Batmini needs a pulley though, or is he scared? seriously from what the list say, the only thing missing is the pulley, then he will push over 200hp

Holy crap yo, I thought you were kidding about the "I <3 the Batmini" thing. That's kind of spooky stalkerish while humbling at the same time.

And no, I'm not scared to do the pulley. I've decided I'm going to do the pulley last. Before the pulley I'm looking at a screamin demon, nology wires, densos, m7 scoop, and new wheels. Then on to (probably) MTH, and pulley. So yeah, it's coming. Probably not before MOTD 2006 tho... But only time (and tax returns) will tell... I've already got everything else mentioned before the wheels on hand or on it's way.

I heart Batmini. rofl.

Will...

I can't wait to hear your Milltek... I've been leaning towards a Milltek for the spring. And you should drive mine, with the Alta CAI and pulley. Just to compare.

I'm seriously thinking Milltek exhaust and Quaife for mine. I'm supremely jealous now!

Stratmosphere had a 15% off sale over the holidays. %15 off 1700, plus $100 off ordering the header & cat-back together.

0 fitment issues. Everything plugged in right where all the stock stuff came out... And between Randy Webb's pictoral how-tos (on his forum) and the included instructions, everything went pretty smooth with the install.

I don't know if I want to drive yours Mark... I already <3 your car from a distance... I may get a bit of jealousy if I was to hop in your ride. You're the reason I went decided 100% the wet okoles were for me.

Lol krut. Again, spooked & humbled. BTW, I'll pay for the plates.

But Will,

I may 'cost you' purchasing a pulley, but I bet you're going to 'cost me' buying a Milltek...

woohoo.. i got a BOLT - yes a BOLT in my tire today - 1.25" long and blunted ended. I heart BatMINI's run-flat tires. Had to rush to the corner mechanic to get it pulled out and plugged. This is the second time in five months. I'm seriously thinking of going back to run-craps.

If you had to replace a run-flat, you wouldn't be so enamored of them!

I think WagNBat's MINI will respond well to performance mods. When his car was dynoed with just a CAI he was already pushing 170whp

I ordered it painted to match, JB. I put 4 coats of Zaino on last night. Probably going to install this afternoon if a seperate issue I have pending gets resolved.

Thanks for the compliment mybroscoop!

PIR8 97, my line of thinking is along the lines of... Warantee obviously. My SA isn't fond of pulleys. He'll work around aftermarket ones, but he won't install them. So I think I'm fairly safe when I do decide to go for it. And another line of thinking is that people do the biggest hp mod first, and then everything else is small. I like to think I'm 'setting the foundation' for the pulley upgrade. Kind of like a high jumper. Starts off fast... faster... faster... AIRBORNE!!

Hmmm... You'll have to discuss that with the misses @ the next meet. She may get mad/jealous if I were to let TSB pilot the Batmini.

Will install scoop & post pics tomorrow. It's rainy and nasty outside today. I have something else to install & take pics of tomorrow too... But that's a surprise.
