Mine LOOKS the best, no doubt!

Maybe this is coming later in the winter, pipes wouldn't stick so far out and they'd be closer together though. Don't mind the paint, I was rearended.

you can tell certainly tell priorities by comparing those groovy looking, but non-functional tips to those o'so-functionally compromised bends/intersections/whatever which hide out of sight.

I would say I'm pretty good at English, but damn, when I read you post I'm like

Could you be clearer? Something tells me you mean that it's ok for it too look bad under the car but not where you can see it, the tips?

And I couldn't agree more! This whole setup, 3" cat-back exhaust cost me about 120$ so I'm not complaining, I will get some nice looking tips on it soon though, it's wintertime so I'm not really in a hurry.

I'm trying to get another stock exhaust to hack up. I want to do the one-ball but change out the piping from the cat to the resonator from 2.25" to 2.5" or 3". And maybe the same after the resonator to the tips. Dunno if you would consider that custom lol but I'll post pics if I ever do it.

sorry; had my boxers twisted. Point was it seemed prioritues were skewed toward non-function bling (tips) whereas the important stuff (mandrel bends in the piping) was ignored.

Ah, that's better.

Yeah, I guess I'm more concerned with sound and tips with an exhaust.

Are you serious? I think its way overdone Air dam isn't bad, but the 'running board' side skirts? YIKES!... Side-exit exhaust is the coolest thing about the car, though IMO slash-cut tips, and almost flush to the rocker pannel would be a look.

Thanks for posting though This is first side-exit exhaust street MINI I've seen.

Wonder if this option would add much go? Sure would get the side of the car dirty though

Here's mine...

It's off the car now. Too loud. Need a different muffler.

This is the OBX header, Magnaflow cat (94166) wideband, and EGT...

Matt,

What do you think that makes the sound so loud; the header ? The back muffler or the CAT?

Here's my take..

The header by itself doesn't contribute that much. I think it going to the aftermarket cat, 2.5" pipes and muffler. There are people running the header with the stock cat and aftermarket exhaust that don't have the noise issues, and I've currently got the stock cat back on, with the One-Ball, and it's just a bit louder than with the stock exhaust manifold.

I'd even added a ressonator, made it a bit quieter, down to only slightly deafaning!

Matt

Custom 3" magnaflow from Meineke Mufflers

Custom 3" magnaflow from Meineke Mufflers

3" magnaflow resonator
splits into 2x 2.5" pipes each with a 14" magnaflow muffler
non-showy tips

Gained me about 10hp on the dyno if memory serves.
