I put this in Performance Mods because these driving tips may increase YOUR performance, which in-turn increases your MINI's performance:

OK, that site looked like it might have been cool, but the ads were so out-of-control that I couldn't even read it.

The site completely hi-jacked my browser, opening 3 new browser windows in less than a minute, and tried to install some seriously questionable software on my machine.

I would recommend that no one clicks this link unless they are using a browser like Mozilla that doesn't allow unauthorized pop-ups and software downloads.

If you're not sure about your computer, here's a simple rule of thumb: If you're using Internet Explorer on Windows machine, then you're not protected. So, I wouldn't click this link.

Sorry to be downer Orbhot, I'm sure your intentions were good. :???:

That was truly an obnoxious site, with the flashing lights telling me I had just won big, "Just click here." It sure was trying to do something. My firewall is up and every page I tried to access returned a 404 error. It was not happy that I was protected.

for those of you with a mac download "safari" from apples website. It blocks all popups and is extremely fast.

for those of you with a PC get a mac.

Or, you could do the smart thing and get Popup Stopper from http://www.panicware.com.

you don't need a mac to block ads or have your browser hijacked, laugh...there is no shortage of ad and pop up blockers for a PC...plus I'n not about to give up my 1024 of RDRAM to go to a mac, laugh!

Sorry about that, but I use the MOZILLA browser (http://www.mozilla.org) and never get any annoying pop-ups, so I didn't even notice. Free ad for Mozilla: If you like Netscape at all, you'll love Mozilla, which is actually the engine Netscape is based on.
