^^ you guys are rough this morning

Free HP, not to my knowledge. Best bang for the buck would be sc reduction, hai, lighter wheel/ tire combo etc...

strip the interior, remove a/c, remove alternator, and pull the filter off the intake...
car may not last long though...

So for power, you've only really done two things...

The pully and the intake. Cheap exhaust mod is the "one-ball", not free, but cheap. Next power stuff isn't free at all, but will do something to create more power.

ECU tune (lots out there, none free). There's lots of power here.
Then you get exotic.
Lighter rotational mass (doesn't create any more HP, but lets you use what you have better) via crank pully or flywheel.
Head work. (no where near free).

You also may want cooler plugs too.

For cost benenfit (and this does need updating) you can look here.

I'd say that's half-way towards English.... . I kid, I kid. Anyways, removing sprung weight nets no "free power"- just perceived power . Sprung weight and drivetrain weight reduction can theoretically gain you back some power lost to the ground, but not hugely without big investment! With pulley, you should get colder plugs. But, is your car JCW or not [I noticed the sig]?? If it is, it should have colder plugs, I thought? And yeah, the head would probably be the only other thing to do, but again: do you have a JCW? The head can be SIGNIFICANTLY improved, but that will cost lotsa $$$.

You don’t have to go the extreme and strip the interior but; taking out the rear seats and seat belt hardware will remove almost fifty pounds. Removing those items will improve acceleration and gas mileage by a little.

Sara, you have some great pictures on the LSMC site, you should add some to the gallery here.

If you already have the JCW engine kit (and I think you do) then there isn't a lot you can do for low bucks.

You already have a 15% (approximately) pulley. Most on here do not suggest going to the 19%. You already have a more open exhaust and intake as well as a reworked cylinder head, larger fuel injectors, and colder plugs.

There is a lot of debate as to how much the JCW helps versus aftermarket stuff, but anything you add at this point would not make as much difference as it would on a regular S without the JCW kit.

I think the only thing you might want to consider would be an aftermarket intake, such as the Alta unit. It may help some over the JCW box. If nothing else, it will add some nice sounds that will at least make you think it's faster.

Have fun no matter what you do.

Agreed. Even more so... you can actually get paid to increase hp! For the 3 or so hp "gained" by removing the rear seats, I made 300 bucks as I sold them to some fella in NY. I guess I've sold-off many things now, but in reality, nothing ever is truly free as cost is often times much more than the mighty dollar. Time, effort, energy, etc are often always paid in any endeavor... I'd rather max these out though, as opposed to the credit card .
