Titanium cooper s exhaust

How many people in the MINI community would be interested in a titanium exhaust system? Ive seen porsches, and bmw's with titanium exhaust's ranging in prices from 2500-4000. Just curious to see if there is any real market for such an exhaust on a MINI S.

EDIT: Here is a link to the audio of the titanium exhaust for sale on ebay.

and here is a link to the titanium exhaust on ebay

I used to have 54mm Termignonis on my Ducati in titanium. The whole idea is weight, and the same applies to cars as well. However, cost of the titanium is so high, and performance gains are not to much different, it is not very attractive. Ooh, one more thing, there is no col factor, since the system sits under the car and not visible.

Yes, but only if it was a straight-back exhaust requiring the removal of the battery box.

I wouldn't spend $2500 if it was solid gold though.

If you gotta have titanium go with Invidia - titanum tips (i.e. what you see).

Actually, there is one. We've seen it here at SEMA! The product is beautiful. The welds are perfect, and the whole system weighs a mere 22 lbs. And yes, it does cost about $2500.

The money spent on Ti products never seems to payoff, unless your into the bling aspect of them.

Someone said earlier, if it was straight... and I agree as it's all about the weight. My straight system weighs less than 20 lbs (8 of that is the SS Borla muffler) and it can be replicated for about 500 bucks.

For something 4 to 8x the price, the 5 or so pounds extra lost would be a tough sell, at least for me. If the loss in weight was up front, it might be more compelling though... like a Ti header. I bet that would cost a mint

Interesting question but a more relevant one would be - what does the 200.00 OBX header weigh. I put an OBX header on my car and while i don't know that actual weight, it did not feel like more than 10 lbs.

I was going to ask that, or other aftermkt headers... but the cat is often not included on some options, including the OBX, so that would need to get factored-in for a like comparo...

Also, does Ti retain heat better than ss? I ask because I, like others have, was planning to ceramic coat whatever header I got. If Ti has better properties in that regard, that would be a consideration. jlm would know!

IMO, it's worth the money. Titanium or not, this level of craftsmanship is missing from the Mini market - at least what can be bought in this country.

Okay, if you ask me, $600 to $800 is a rip-off for a stainless steel exhaust. Now, you want me to fork over $2500 for a titanium exhaust?

Ummm...

NO WAY!
