Oil Catch Can Routing

What is the correct routing for the hoses of the OCC? I have read the threads but I'm still confused which is the best way to route the hoses, plus the diagrams don't show up. Do I only connect the passenger side/PCV hose or do I have to tee that with the driver side hose? Where do I connect the OCC outlet to? To the hose leading to the superchager or the filter tube? Hope someone could post a diagram to make things a lot easier! Thanks!

Most people connect the PCV valve and the crank case vent to the oil catch can and then back to the intake hose where the crank case hose was connected to. They also cap off the hard gray tubing that comes from the supercharger side. I right now just have the PCV side connected to the catch can and have not begin to install the crank case hose to the catch can due to running out of hose. I pulled the hose for the crank case side and saw no oil in the line. The same goes for the PCV hose. Also have not seen any signs of oil in the catch can as well. When I get the car back from the dealer I will finish the install.

Your confused? I was going to install one UNTIL I read all the confusing threads and decided - I'll pass!

Theres the can that goes on the left and then theres the second can that goes somewhere on the right. Then theres the "my can doesn't collect anything, or just some water, ect..........

Good luck to ya!

It really is not confusing at all. Just look at the picture of how they have it routed and your all set. The install should take 10-20 minutes. if you just install the PCV valve section but a little longer when you do the full install including the crank case portion. I have not seen any trace of oil yet and have a few thousand miles on mine. But the thought of the whole thing gives a peace of mind in the end.

Did my second OCC on my wife;s MCSC this weekend, and routed it exactly as diagram above was. I also did Andy's VGS mod while under there, Alta 15% pulley, and Alta intake!

I'm still confused. In the thread linked above, they say the best method is to run 2 OCC's. One for the PCV Vent (left side) and one for the Valve Cover Breather (right side). So I'll probably route this one up to the PCV Vent and back to the tube after the throttle body. Maybe if I get another one then I'd hook up the Valve Cover breather. Thanks for the info though!

If you already own the alta and want to go the two OCC method, you can do a search for the $16 catch can mod and use that on the crank case side (i.e. driver side). Will save you from buying another alta unless you want to add more for looks.

I'd try the $16 can on the vent side before anything else.

I've got 64,000 miles now, cought plenty of oil only routing the PCV thru the Catch can and to the grey tube. Clean oil btw that I always want to put right back in the engine, f-in Redline is expensive.
On the Crank Vent side, only noticing the slightest of discoloration on the inside of my RED Alta intake tube.
I've written off concerns about water vapor figuring that any water vapor going thru the intake path would only end up helping to reduce intake temps kinda of like a water injection system would.
