Miletek best price ??

Who has th ebest price on miltek for the cooper s ? I am thinking to change out to the miltek it seems to hold up well and it sounds good. I like what is on my car now but it really isnt holding up all that well.

Best I have found so far is $679 with free shipping

not to mention that Steve's a great guy, who's really passionate and knowledgeable about Mini's. Plus, every time I make the trip to his shop, I always find out something new about Mini's and/or products for the Mini.

By the way, Steve's a real straight shooter and he's got Milltek on his own MCS, so I think that says a lot about the exhaust.

I have to agree 100% Steve is a great guy and has great prices.

Steve did the head and cam on my car. Last time on the dyno it made 209whp with stock injectors.

Not to get off topic, but what mods are you running? Are you using Steve's head?

Thanks,
Gary

I am getting one from steve. If anyone is looking for a milltek I sugest you call him and check his price, he has a few coming in for stock and I am sure he will take care of you.

$679 was the best I found too, with free shipping. There were a few places a bit cheaper, but shipping killed the deal. This was from minituner.com.

I would've surely used Steve, but wanted to do the install on this one myself. Took about 1.5 hours and used Randy Webb's how-to.

Really? that makes me second guess myself on getting a miltek then? Really? That kinda sucks. I like the power gains and tone. But gold tips huh?

Oddly, the gold tips seal the decision for me. I have a BRG MCS and I think the gold will look good with the green!

Now if I could just choose which intake system to buy...

I have never seen them really gold, but I am sur eyou can polish them and if you keep them clean and polished I doubt there would be a problem. I havent noticed any with gold tips.

The how to's are in the forums. There's a whole topic of them:

http://store.webbmotorsports.com/forum/index.php

As far as the discoloration goes, the polished finish does discolor with heat. It gets a bit of a purplish-guld hue to it. Not unusual for heated stainless. It's not really bright gold, however.

Already have the MTH standard software, have bought but not installed an Alta 17% pulley and colder plugs, am waiting on the "dyno shootout" to decide on an air intake. Will buy the exhaust after I get a feel for how these mods work for me. Might do JCW 380 injectors before the exhaust.

I really want the air intake dyno tests to happen! I drove two MINIs this evening at the Metroplex Mini happy hour - one with a JCW intake and one with the Alta. Still haven't driven one with the AGS. That Alta really sings, let me tell you! The JCW is as quiet as the stock intake to my ears - until you get to about 5500 RPM and then the noise from the secondary flap opening becomes really noticable.

Sign on name is just short for "Gary McDonnell" - my real world name. I'm not terribly original when it comes to monikers. But I make a mean bowl of chili so it all works out.

Past experience with other cars led me to the decision to get the colder plugs. Plus the JCW kit includes colder plugs and other than the improved cylinder head it includes that's pretty much where I'll be once I have the cat-back exhaust in.
