Drivetrain Alta 15% Pulley Install
Alta 15% Pulley Install
The new pulley arrived on Friday and I installed it Saturday morning. It's not a hard install at all. The most difficult part was jacking the engine without the coil connector contacting the coolant reservoir and something in front trying to hook the cooling fan. It took me about 4 hours from setup through cleanup including the test drive. This is the first thing I've done to the engine so I was very careful to check everything three times. I also did a lot of sight-seeing under the hood (bonnet) for future reference. I took it out on some hilly twisties, but I will have to drive some of my better known routes to make a judgement on how much more power the is over stock. It sure does whine, though. I'll have it dyno'd in two weeks so I'll see the change from my stock dyno of last month. Alta CAI and Milltek exhaust haven't arrived yet so I have some time to get the feel of this mod before the next ones.

Don't take off the tensioner if you have the deluxe puller tool.
BTW, the stock pulley weighed 328g and the Alta weighed 439g. About 4oz difference.
