modified supercharger performance

I see that M7 and the Brits in particular are big on SC mods. The claims are 12 - 18 hp depending. Does anyone have this mod and can you substantiate the claims? I'm looking at the mod SC and the intake manifold and runnners and before I spend the $ this time I'd like to get some input "from the field"

Thanks for all contributions in advance

Patience it a virtue sir!

My supercharger, head etc gets installed before the end of this month. I will then tell you if it has really made a big difference

In the meantime, I have no opinion, other than it looks pretty sat here on my desk

I'm sure someone with some more useful information will chime in here soon enough .

Take it easy,

Henry

Bob,

I went with the M7 unit and paid around $600-700 if I remember correctly.

Cheers,

Henry

I have a ported SC on my car but I cant really say what it did or did not do. I had it done same time as the head and cam. My car is definitly respectable now power wise.

Properly porting the s/c (some generations/applications much more than others), intake manifold, runners, etc. is a great bang for the buck, but isn't as easy to do for most people, given that it requires disassembly and a good amount of turnaround time, so it takes your car down. Flow rates aside, one big benifit is a reduced generation of heat, making it more efficient.

Other than Ebay, does anyone have a source for takeoff superchargers for our cars? The market is reasonable in England, but the shipping charges usually kill the deal.

I posted a couple of sources in this thread. Is the answer you are looking for?

Mine just went to M7 today...

I got an 05 take-off from a works conversion from eBay. I arranged with M7 to do the porting ($695 plus a $25 shipping surcharge for thier turn around to the guy that does the work). They said about three days turn to return ship, after they recieved it. I'm in no hurry (other items showing up as well), as I'm an opportunist for discounts, and the chance to buy the SC came up ($310 for one with 38 miles on it!), so I don't know when I can post a review.

Of course, after I boxed it up and sent it out, one of the inquiries I did was answered, polish and port on the Mini SC for $300 less... Crap!

Here's my e-mail with the guy..

Start response.......

Yes we can port those for $395.00 That includes the porting and to have all
new fluids added and to be inspected.
Thank you
