Drivetrain Car is not boosting................
Car is not boosting................
I had the dealer checked all lines for pressure and vacuum leaks and found intercooler boots loose due to installation of the Defi boost gauge, just got the car back 1/2 hour ago from the dealership car still running low power/boost. My defi is showing .5 bar for maximum boost. Since the dealer cant do anything, what should I do at this point?
Check your bypass valve. It might not be closing fully, the diaphragm may have ruptured or the linkage miht have come apart. Some people have been coming up with bypass valve issues around here.

Another one bites the dust!
Definitely check our bypass valve.
Mine bit the dust and the dealer was no help until someone else pointed me in the right direction. I took the car in and the dealer told me nothing was wrong. Because they could not find the problem by plugging it into the computer!
My opinion of the dealers mechanics is very low, can you say barely functioning morons.
It is easy enough to check the bypass yourself. If you can reach down and easily move the linkage between the valve and the diaphram, then it is probably screwed. I had to cable tie mine closed until I could get an appointment at the dealer to get it fixed.

The dealer probably used the GT1 to look for error codes, not to datalog boost pressure. When the bypass valve takes a crap, it usually doesnt throw DTCs. With the hood open, have somebody stomp on the gas so it shoots to about 6000rpm. Look at the linkage on the bypass valve to see if it closes under boost. Then you'll know at least that it's moving. If it's not, buy a new valve. Look at Andy at Rosstech's VGS thread to find the bypass valve.
