I am certain beyond certain that a OE LSD is not retrofitable. Unless that policy (and I'm sure that is all it is) has changed.
Good idea - as it is a $500 option on the MINI.

The head tech is positive that the clutch pressure plate is causing a pronounced "click" at velocity change (most predictable after gear shifts.) Last MCS I had made the same exact noise at the same time, and a drive axle assemblty was replaced. Worked. Different dealership. We'll see.

John, go for the Quaiffe unit.
Availability should no longer be an issue. I got one off the shelf at Turner two weeks ago. Most people drop ship them but they had one on the shelf. You can try the Ford tuners as well because the Quaiffe is the same unit for the Escort.
Remember to get NAPA side arm bearings and OEM front, left and right seals just in case the stock ones get damaged.
I haven't heard too many good things about lighter flywheels. The evidence I've read is far in favor of stock, but what do I know?...I choose my own poison
I think Che is coming up on a year and half? Too soon to entertain a new clutch.

Thanks, Steve.
I'll be leaving the car alone for now. I have to remember they're fixing something I'm not entirely faithful needs fixing like that. They just reported to me they are not interested in installing an lsd. They'd rather leave the tranny alone. I take that as a real indication that I should hold off on any coinvenient additions right now.
I hope to make che keep up with stryder one day...
