What mod next?

I just had the 19% pulley installed last weekend at the Dragon. Man... what a great difference from the stock pulley. Anyways, yesterday I was barely out run by my buddies Z28 camaro.

What mods would be the most intelligent/horsepower gain at my state of tune? All of my mods are posted below. I'm not concerned with cost... however I want to keep the factory supercharger and do not want to add a turbo.

I am considering going GIAC with injectors or the Webb head and cam. Any other ideas are welcomed.

Thanks in advance

suspension & lighter rims&tires. Mini will never be really fast car on straight roads. Spend some money on springs, sway bar, control arms, camber plates, good sticky tires on light rims, you will not be disappointed.

I did not see a sway bar on your list - that would be my next followed by springs and shocks then brakes.

I noticed on the Dragon that with my big brakes I was able to brake alot later than any body I followed.

I have the head and cam and it does make a difference but handling and stopping in places like the Dragon IMO matter more.

Larger intercooler, especially with the 19%.

2004 MCS, sport pkg, lapis leather, 15% pulley, densos, Alta intake, Milltec exhaust

If you prefer the factory height, i would do: rear swaybar & light wheels/tires
next.

Excuse me if these are too obvious, but when you replaced the pulley, did you replace the belt as well? I assume so. What about getting colder plugs? I've been told I need that for the 15% pulley I had installed at the Dragon, and it should be even more important for your 19.

I'm going to agree with the wheels and tires before brakes. I just take my wheels for granted

Having power without traction is worthless. I vote for a Limited Slip Differential, Quaife preferably. That would be my first addition from where you are now. Followed by;

Short shift kit (many to choose from)
The lightest wheels you can afford (16"x7" generally, less rotational mass)
Non-run-flat tires (Goodyear, Falken, Goodrich etc 205/50-16, 215/45-16)
Larger rear anti-sway bar (H-sport 25.5mm tubular is very light and stiff)
Koni adjustable shocks
4-point harness (if you will be doing track days or Auto-X)

Edit:11May05
Larger throttle body (increrase air flow, the single largest bottleneck of the intake system)
Intercooler water spray system (improved cooling of the intake charge)

You never really said what you were aiming at for a final product, a race car or a poser.

Another vote for some very light wheels and good non-runflats. Makes a difference that you can really feel even if you can't see it on a dyno

WOW! Never seen such an imphasis on suspensions modifications.

I forgot to put my suspension mods on my sig. I have the H-sport rear sway bar and springs. I also have kosei k-1 racing wheels 16x7.5 with azenis on them. So I think I'm set in that department. Just looking for an extra 20-30hp.

you will be very hard pressed to get 20-30 hp at this point... on paper, a head, intercooler, with crank pulley should get you that power... but on the road would be quite a different story

intercooler to help cool your intake charge will benefit you alot... a to a benefits from good performance overall, w to a benefits from denser cooling agent, and it is not as impervious to heat.. but you still need to get that water cooled.. ultimate solution would be fmic, but very pricey

a new head would defenitely free up hp, but pricey...

crank pulley is the next known good thing... but reliability could suffer a bit especially considering you have a 19%....

injectors would help, but im still a but puzzled as to the benefits of bigger injectors... would it benefit a 15% pullied S as well?

Try a M7 hood scoop, now that you have a 19% pully your I/C will run hotter the scoop will help cool the I/C.

OK, no mattter where you are (I am) you (I) always want 20 -30 more hp.

Get a head/cam/TB/IC and a way to custom tune the system. I have proven it to myself that bolting stuff on and just loading in software is not the best way to go. I recommend with this amount of mods you need to dyno tune your car to get the most for your $. The "off the shelf" stuff works great for the basic mods but my experience shows that more mods the more the integration needs to be "tuned."

i know one person already posted it, but from a safety standpoint, i'd say a schroth 4-point harness. that harness saved my @$$ en route to the dragon. if your gonna go fast, you gotta have be safe when doing it. followed by the harness, suspension would be the next best step, wheels/tires followed by springs/sway bar/control arms, and then prolly the LSD

Thanks for all the suggestions.

As far as nitrous goes I am wanting to wait until I have pulled every last horsepower out of the motor witout the spray. Also I am wanting to have the motor bored and fitted with larger/stronger pistons before any laughing gas.

I believe I am going to go apexi and larger injectors for my next mod right now. Unless any of you can give me a reason why I would find larger gains with something else.

Any and all comments are welcome.

Good choice (IMO)
