Webb Motorsports Update

Well, the rumors aren't true (that I know of anyway); I haven't been abducted by aliens.

I had some personal issues to deal with, so the business was running on a shoe-string schedule over the last month or so. As many of you know, even when I am at full capacity, it is sometimes tough to get through on phone and e-mail. You can imagine how it has been lately! I have taken the next week and scheduled just return phone calls, and many of you have already spoken to me. I will also be addressing e-mails.

There have been several changes made, and more are coming to Webb Motorsports. We have hired two folks to help out, and if money allows, there will be more. James has a black MINI Cooper S with the standard tricks, and is learning quickly. He can take phone orders and is learning more technically oriented support every day. Scott is here to help with local installs in the evening, so if you have a big job, you may see him - he's been great with clutch and LSD install help (it was a bear single handedly!). Scott has an Electric Blue MINI with more of the standard tricks. We are also implenting online ordering - finally. Look for that update on the website shortly.

On the product front, I haven't been sleeping. We have data on the GRS intercooler that will be posted shortly, we are currently evaluating the Fast Forward exhaust and the Alta 2% crank pulley, and we have updated the front mount intercooler and are developing some changes for that kit. The RMS intercooler has also been evaluated - again the numbers will follow - and the supercharger development is coming along nicely. Another hint - there are more Webb Motorsports brand products coming to follow alongside the camber plates, throttle bodies, manifolds, intercooler, and droplinks. These are much more revolutionary than evolutionary.

I appreciate the frustration some of you have had in trying to reach me and the staff. We are working to aleviate those issues, and while it will take some time to have everything in place, I (as I have always done in the past) will continue to do everything I can to handle the needs of the MINI community without risking my health or my family. I apologize to the community as a whole and to my customers in particular for not being readily available over the last month. That will slowly change, and I will not sacrifice the quality of the information I give out or the time I spend with each customer.

If you haven't heard from me yet, and you have left a message, you will shortly. If you didn't get through, keep trying - I'm here! More than half of my day is spent answering non-revenue generating questions, so if you do have an order, please continue to use Webb Motorsports, as it generates the revenue necessary to continue new product development.

Points to remember about Webb Motorsports:

- We are exclusively MINI
- We were one of the first vendors on the MINI front
- We have developed or tested more products than any other vendor
- We travel the country supporting customers
- We carry a 2 year/24,000 mile warranty on all parts
- We carry multiple manufacturers to be able to supply exactly what you need
- We are a brick and mortar business with a full service MINI only shop
- We all drive MINIs
- We have won more events than any other vendor through sponsorship and participation

On that last note, Webb Motorsports cars did extremely well last weekend:

Kelly Petersen finished first place on Saturday at the BMWCCA autocross, and followed it up with a win in the SCCA event on Sunday.

Grant Barclay finished second on Saturday at the BMWCCA event. He was again strong on Sunday at the SCCA event where he finished second.

There is another autocross this weekend, and we'll keep you updated on the progress of the Webb Motorsports cars.

We have also been in the press recently again - take a look at the product reviews in the latest European Car where you'll find the Webb Motorsports/Perfect Power camber plates. We were also in Grassroots Motorsports' last issue.

We look forward to continuing to serve the MINI community in a better capacity with more product choices and better customer support.

I again personally apologize for the lack of communication, and look forward to talking with all of you.

Hope that helps!

Thats ok Randy..... you didnt miss much, except of course the skeptics having an m7 feast, speaking of which, we're still waiting on video, sound clips and dyno chart of the skeptics orgy.

Now that you're here maybe they can start tearing a chunk out of you. Got a new system to feed them???

p.s. I came up with a name for the Webb Motorsport pulley..... see my sig.

skeptics-schmetics. One of Randy's major contributions is to not support a product until he has tested it. more power to him.

Agreed. A very welcome approach to "advertising".

It was that damn "Nathan Lane" comment, wasn't it? I'm sorry.

Here's to hoping it was nothing serious and that everyone's OK.

Definately keep up the good work, I just wish you were on the east coast. Still considering a cross-country drive to visit

I would like to make a trip to see Webb Motorsports as well. It's only 1,756 miles. Map Quest says it should take about 27.3 hours. Might have to pack a few RED BULLs to pull off that kind of time. I have never been to far west so I'm sure there would be some great stuff to see along the way. From the view from Randy's shop it certainly looks like a beautiful place to visit. When I'm ready for a clutch, flywheel & LSD install I'll had that way.

Randy- I hope everything is OK at home. Family First- We'll wait for you!

Might make for an interesting trip. Although for warrant ysake on Webb products it might make for a difficult warranty claim. I could help drive although I suck with a stick.

Hey Randy.... this might be a good idea... I suggest you go. I have no doubt in my mind you will be overwhelmed with pulley installs. Put an ad in a magazine or something beforehand.

Hey Venti.. how much would you pay for an install including pulley?? 400 Euro?

To be honest, I would wait until I was back in the States if it was 400 Euro. That would equal about $516 after the exchange rate. Being that I am from the US and will return next year, I would wait and fork over the amount he charges for installs in the States. I could offer Randy some help getting his wares into the country though.

I would be willing to venture there would be some Italians interested in getting some parts. I always have Italians asking me for help on parts.

has it occured to you guys that no matter how much he likes to do it, or how much he makes, these jaunts are stretching the man thin? This hiatus is becoming an annual event.

The only reason I suggested it was because I noticed that they are going to sponsor some people to fly over here and race pre-tuned MINIs. I figured Randy was a logical US representative. I look forward to seeing anyone and everyone who attends, especially anyone from the US.

As far as the pulley installs over here, whatever works. I plan on catching up with him at some point after I return. As I said, I only have to wait another year (or so) and I am going to have Venti Due until it is turned over in a will!

Sounds like some exciting stuff. I am interested in the fast forward exhaust and 2% crank pulley reviews. Thanks for the update.

Are you implying that pre-development hype and refusal to present promised data are not good? Whatever happened to good 'ole flim-flam? Man, you're really not with the program .
