before the faithful get all worked up and start placing orders, can I ask simply what is the big deal with this pulley? surely that is an innocent question?

That's definitely a good question! I'm sure M7 will tell us why it should be considered revolutionary.

This was mentioned in the AGS thread.

Per the M7 web site:

The M7 Technology Pulley goes way beyond a simple supercharger reduction pulley, improving performance and efficiency in four distinct ways:
  • Passive heat management: Reduces thermal transfer to the belt from the supercharger shaft,
  • Active heat management: Keeps your supercharger assembly cooler.
  • Reduced belt slippage: Prevents damage and abnormal wear to your belts, and provides that extra bit of power that would be lost to the friction and slippage inherent in other systems
  • Reduced belt squirm thanks to a CAD-optimized belt-to-pulley interface

It's also a 16% reduction pulley.

The only reason to sign up would be if you were having something installed. To just show up and hang with fellow mini owners just come on down. Lunch will be served about 12:30 .

Well, they didn't really say what they did to the pulley, did they? Just what it is supposed to do?

So, how much HP gain are we talkin' here? Let's say...pulley and AGS(no big bore TB)?

Would I need to use new ECU software or even a new chip?

Keep me clued in!

Jeez, give it a rest. Is 24-48 hours going to make that much of a difference in how we modify our cars?

Since peter started a new thread on this, I'm going to lock this one so we don't have two threads going on the same topic. Please hop over to the other thread.
