I have one and let it "break in" for about 1000 miles. I put it on with the WMS head and now that my Unichip is tuned I like it and tell big differences. The engine really is smooth and powerful in the upper register

mine was installed when I put the ENdyn head/blower in there, so I don't have a reference point just for what the cam did on butt dyno. Broke mine in for 500 miles based on regular break in rules, then I updated my MTH and ripped it and haven't looked back yet

Schrick

Installed mine a week ago and what a difference. From 4 grand up the car feels like another beast. Cool temp in morning around Buffalo really makes the cam even more of an animal. Can't wait for Watkins Glen May 2nd. Worth every $ spent.

Did mine about (street cam)a year ago with the WMS head and large valves. I had it dynoed at Yarrow motorsports in the fall and it dynoed at 230.5 hp and about 225 lb/ft of torque and that is with the stock intercooler .I will never look back.

Is that crank or wheel and do you have exhaust mods?

I didn't buy my cam from Randy. I asked my mechanic about it cuz I was going on a fun run that weekend with some M3s so he told me to keep it at the new break in points for 500 miles or so. His opinion based on the cams he puts in M3/5s

Break In

Drive the snot out of it. I don't see a need to wait 500-1000 miles.

Probably more due to the head than the cam.

Are you willing to share all that you have done to your engine to put out that kind of power.

Thanks

Lots of stuff done

The list of upgrades are long. They include:

Alta CAI with hose
WMS throttle body
Alta 15% pulley
Extrude Hone polished IC runners
Extrude Hone polished intake manifold
WMS head with large valves and Schrick street cam
Miltek header
UUC exhaust
Pilo coil pack
Knology (sp.) wires
IK22's
Unichip Piggyback chip running on the B map
Spec stage 2 clutch with stock flywheel
Quaiffe LSD
WMS camber plates
H-Sport springs with stock struts
H-Sport rear sway bar
Powerflex front control arm bushings
Orciari body kit
Things to come are light weight wheels and S03's. I havn't found the right wheel yet. Promini guage pack. RMS WAIC. and Sparco Milano's custom leather to match the interior!

Phew !

Cheers,

MeanGRN

thats awesome.....it also kind of depends on how you drive it for the first amount of miles....i kept mine yesterday at 3 grand when i was driving......i just got mine dyno'ed before the cam with MM 19% reduction pulley, MM header,MM intake, borla sport exhaust, and dinan stage 5 software at 171hp at the wheels, which isnt to bad for a mini on 55k miles, but the fans there sucked, maybe with this new cam in might have opened it up a bit....

I think the only thing needing breaking in is the valves. So, if your new ported and polished head has the larger valves, then those valves will need to seat properly, i.e., so take it easy (i.e., breakin). Don't know for how many miles though. When we buy a new car, the main thing (maybe the only thing) needing breaking in is for the valves to seat.

Edited 30 mins later: I shouldn't say the valves are the only thing, as the pistons and their rings also need to seat properly on a new car.

I have a pretty similar set up without the Intake manifold and runners. I am actually running 19% (for now anyway). I wish I could claim 245
