Milltek Cat-Back

In case this helps with anyone considering exhaust upgrades for a Cooper, the guys at Detroit Tuned hooked me up with a good choice. The Milltek Cat-Back does add some oomph and a more throaty bass sound. It's a good one to go with if you're not after an excessively loud system, but one that accentuates a good intake.

You guys wouldn't happen to have that in a '05 Cooper Convertible variant?

I'm not sure if the Cooper Convertible would need a different fitment. Can you give me a few days to figure it out and get back to you?

Absolutely. The few things I've seen is that there is a slight difference in mounting brackets/points. But let me know.

Ryephile,
In your estimate-
How loud is the Milltek for the MC compared to some of the other MC exhausts?
If Helix is loud and stock is soft
What about Remus, Rspeed, Borla, or magnaflow in comparison.

Ryan, I have been considering an exhaust as my next upgrade and the Milltek was at the top of my list.

The Alta exhaust, however, is a different setup that I am curious of. I realize that Alta isn't one you deal with, but do you have any thoughts or comparisons to the Milltek?

Sound is a big deal to me. I want to be sure it's really streetable. While getting as much hp as possible, of course.

--->minihune: the Milltek cat-back for the Cooper is similar to the Cooper S in volume and improvement in tone versus stock. Both are mellow, smooth, and refined. The Helix Cooper cat-back in comparison is much louder and more raspy.

--->BradB: It sounds like the Milltek is definitely for you. I sent you a PM

Cheers,
Ryan

Ryephile: Any news on the MCC exhaust? Before the WU changes her mind?

I called the dealership and asked if the part numbers between an '04 Cooper and '05 Cooper Cabrio for the cat-back were different; after performing a part number search, the answer was they were the same. This means the Cooper cat-back should fit both hatch and cabrio. I know the MCS has two different part numbers for the cat-backs, which are now being merged into one superseding part number.

Cheers!
