"Safety mods" w/15% pulley upgrade

I've decided in favor of a 15% pulley and GIAC. Which of the following, if any, would you recommend I do with this upgrade. I'm not so much looking for performance as much as mods to help with engine and SC longevity:
- colder plugs
- ignition wires
- larger injectors
- intercool air diverter
- (other)

Um... well... the 15% pulley should be fine by itself. I guess if you wanted to you could do the plugs if it would make you feel better, but the stock plugs aren't exactly bad. Just my .02.

I agree the 15% pulley is basically safe by itself. Colder heat range plugs are a good idea but not mandatory. A shorter belt is a good idea too, but again, not mandatory.

I'm not sure what you mean by "safe". Are you trying to improve fuel economy, or just longetivity? The injectors and air diverter aren't going to help you in the long run. How about a cat-back exhaust? Or, like YuccaPatrol said, improve other aspects of the car; brakes, suspension, etc. Feel free to contact me privately and I'd love to walk you through what will work best for your application!

Cheers,
Ryan

If you are more concerned with supercharger longivity than performance, Put the stock pulley back on. Now it spins X amount more regardless if your in boost or not.

Thanks for your input guys. I think I'll just go with the colder plugs then. Better brakes will take a lil' while to save for, and I want to wait on an exhaust until I open up the breathing more.

I don't have the pulley yet...I'm getting it. I understand it will compromise the SC longevity...I just want to minimize the effect if possible.

well, dpilgrim has probably around 130k (probably more now actually) with a pulley on his MCS. last time i heard, he had no problems.

I've heard/read/made up somewhere that the SC should last around 100k.

could be utter crap.

one thing I've heard/read/made up that might be good is to crack open the SC and make sure the lubing is good or something similar at around 40-50k. It's supposed to be self lubing, but our government is also supposed to be self-checking and balancing, and look how well that worked out.

None of the above. But if you need SOMETHING to help you sleep better at night, go for the colder plugs. Congrats on your choice (15%/GIAC). The best bang for the buck with pulley/ECU pairing, IMO.
