Boost guage question

Well I have my gauges and I'm wanting to install, but I'm not really sure what Vac line I should tap into for the boost gauge. Looking for help

Tap into the fuel pressure regulator line, on the intake manifold at cylinder #1. Unless you have very skinny fingers, you are best off removing the intercooler for access. That is a simple job.

Or is that road salt? And if so, has it eaten anything yet?

Location of the tap shouldn't matter much. Mine is routed like this:

As far as cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the engine, that pic was taken in Feb. '03 when the car was 3 months old and had 1500 miles on it. It's much, much, dirtier than that now.

Would somebody please explain these figures for me?
What are the two things (round and square) on the right?
Why is the connection for the boost gauge so radically different from the stock steup?
An explanation of why this is connected this way would be very much appreciated.

I am going to install a boost gauge and would like to understand the whys and wherefores of the installation. Thanks.

Those are suppose to represent the super charger bypass valve.

Andy is representing what is called the "VGS" mod. This is not needed, but a recommendation by some. This is Andy's thread on the VGS:

Operation Vacuum Gain System (VGS)

If you simply tee the red line from the third picture (Stock Vacuum Routing) on the left (passenger) side, you will get the boost reading you are looking for.
