B&M SHifter for the 04/05 cars

B&M Has the shifter built for the 04-05 cars, they did a test fit on mine toay ( 05 ) and it works great. I was told they should be in stock at vendors by march.

From the top you can hardly tell there is an aftermarket shifter, the stock ( or whalen ) shifter fits perfectly and the shifts are nice and tight!

Just thought I would give a heads up for anyone looking for an 04/05 shifter.

Is the **** lower than stock?

How much less throw? is it adjustable like the Alta?

It's at the same height? I was hoping it would lower it down a bit. Either way, Ive been waiting for the '04 kit since I got the car, so I'll be buying it when it comes out.

yes there is a big difference.. It does not feel as great as the super short height shifters.

I beleive that if you get a Whalen Shift Machine, this will cause the apparent height of the shifter to be lower.

I have a whalen and it still seems about the same. The throw is definatly shorter and the shifts are more notchy ( in a good way ) I am completly happy with it and its a much beter part than the stock unit.

Why would u want to move the shifter further away from your steering wheel????

Because thats what I enjoy. I'm 6'3, so even if the shifter was in the glovebox, I could reach it comfortably!

But I was driving my dad's STI yesterday, and the shifter in that thing is tiny, and feels great. I was hoping some company would make a really, really short shifter.

That's strange. I have the B&M kit on my '03 Cooper, and it shortens the height of the shift **** by at least an inch, maybe two, which I really like. The shifting really loosened up after a few hundred miles, and many thousands of miles later the throw actually seems really long to me again, to the point where I wonder what it's like compared to stock. Whenever I have my car at the dealer, they always really like the short shifter, so I guess I've just gotten used to it.

Actually, mine sits a little higher than the stock ****.
It's only lower than stock when installed on a BMW; not MINI, though.
