Has anybody thought about splicing in:

http://stores.channeladvisor.com/ver...ts/Items/7101?

OR

http://www.martelbrothers.com/catalo...er-p-7661.html

I know JLM and others are running the ATP one... I've got a Borla cat-back, and I'd like to mate a metallic core cat to it and the OBX header...

The plan is to leave the entire OEM manifold together, just in case I ever needed it to pass inspection...

magnaflow cat

here try this:

http://magnaflow.performance-curve.c...PROD&ProdID=82

The magnaflow cat will work and cost you less than half of the ones you had listed above

Yeah - but the Magnaflow has a ceramic core, not a metallic core like the other two... I'd rather have the metallic, since it's more suited to continuous high speed operation (e.g. autocrossing and track days).

Who has the best price?

Who currently has the best price on the OBX header? Are these only sold on e-bay or ??

Any help would be great. I want to get this on order as soon as I can.

A smidget lower I believe if you go to the sparktec website. They are one of the ebay sellers as well but sell cheaper on their site. At least thats how it was a few months ago. I got mine for $187 with shipping to Seattle.

Ah... I love bringing threads back from the dead...

So, can anyone give me an exact measurement of the stock cat piece from where you cut the stock cat, weld on the provided adapter... to the back of that pipe where it mounts to the factory exhaust.

So... in other words, the "new" bolt in cat piece that was created from cutting the cat off the factory header and welding the provided adapter to it. Overall length and diameter would be fantastic.

This will allow any of us who want to source an aftermarket cat BEFORE we go under the car. That way if we want to prep them in anyway...(stay tuned)... we can, without having to chop up our original header and cat...

Anyone? Puhhleeezzz?

hi i am new to this forum and from waht i have read already there are lots of answers too my questions but 1.....

I have a mini cooper 11/2001 , and i just fitted my supersprint connecting (center) pipe without resonator and a supersprint rear muffler....

now my question is can i fit the obx header too the cat replacement pipe from supersprint (picture )

i would like too keep my original header with cat, because i am afraid they will not spare me at the autocontrol , and if they see i welded an aftermarket header too my original cat , i am *****......

How long does it take too fit the aftermarket header ?

why doesn't obx deliver a cat replacement element like that one of supersprint shown in the picture ?

thx

Since OBX is a SS CLONE the parts should be interchangeable. I swapped out my OBX exhaust tips for a SS tips with no issues.

They took the drone out, and nothing else. No performance hit noticed. Perfect.
What are these things - what do they do - where do they go?

i've asked these questions on another thread but got no answers.

I've heard that the OBX header has some subtle differences to the SS header. Are these differences major, and is the performance of the two headers different? Does the SS make more power than the OBX?

Can I get some cliff notes?

My car is reeeallly loud today with a 3" custom cat-back with one highflow muffler. How much louder would it be with OBX header and removing cat? Do you get some fire out of the exhaust without a cat? :mischief:
