Drivetrain K&N Apollo intake
K&N Apollo intake
Anyone has anyone used the K&N Apollo intake in the supercharged cooper s it looks like it would be a true cai compared to the others that use a heat shield that still draws some air from under the hood
Is that the one with a closed cone filter?

Not used one myself, I use free flow filter with standard air box.
Might give you better engine sound from the filter, but performance wise it won't be a great deal of improvement compared to free flow filter and standard box.
Other prople have used the JCW box.

K&N has one similar to this. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-nm-engin...ms/nm1275~nme/
I put one into my JCW air box. In a quick search, I couldn't find the K&N version. I assume that there are similar ones that fit the OEM air box also.
No fancy swirl or flow directors (that do nothing), just a plain ol cotton filter. I have a LONG story about foam filters. Won't use them.
