I'm really interested in getting a Intake for my Mini ... I've notice a lot of MCO member have either the ALTA or the Madness Intake. But I've never come across anyone with a K&N Intake. I know nothing about intake ... Whats the whole different between upgrading the Air filter .. and a Intake .. I read some info .. and I only come to realize that the for most intake kit, only part really modded is the filter part or intake ( whateever ) ... but the air induction tube that goes into the engine is the same! so whats the difference huh ? air filter .. intake ??

Oh yeah .... I would problably need some advice in buying an intake too .. problably one around 200 or 300 bucks .. easy to install ...

another thing .... does anyone know the issue about whether upgrading a intake in my MINi would viod warrenty ??

Thanks so much !!

I am running a K&N typhoon intake on my MCS. I like the looks and sound it gives as well as the seat of the pants performance. I have used K&N products before and never had a problem. They may cost a little more but I think it is worth it.

I like your painted intercooler cover. How did you do yours? Any heat issues?
Do you drive with the heavy pliers in your engine bay? Just noticed it.
I wonder if it is worth having a duct for fresh air going from the front air opening (which is not connected to your airbox directly. I have seen something on other MINIs. Is that a future mod for you?
My engine bay is really hot. Just lift the Bonnet once you park- tremendous heat in there warming up the air for your intake. Not sure how cool it all is once the car is moving. Would be neat to get some temp readings from different points in the engineÎ4JÐ as you go.
