just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what perf. mod to do next..... aside from the reduction pulley.... I'll wait till Randy is back in So. Cal. and get that done.... anyways, it's an 05 MCS.... already have the Alta CAI and magnecor wires (compliments the alta)....... Milltek exhaust? alta IC diverter (the one with the spray)..... time to ask Santa what to put under the tree

MTH all the way....

Go chip tuning. You won't believe the difference. There's lots of unused potential in your car, all accessed with a little programming. It's something you can have matched to your particular set of mods, so as you change your set up, the programming can be set up to match. You won't be sorry.

You may not consider this a "Performance Mod" but I would get a short shifter. Anything stock feels like I'm shifting a School Bus.. It's a good performance feel mod.

I'd do the exhaust, then the ECU - that way, when you do the ECU, you can get the programming for the exahust and you'll be all done.

The rear anti sway bar really changes a car.

Pulley would be #1 by far

I would do the milltek exhaust. I'm most likely going to order one from Webb Motorsports after the holidays. I have a Alta Short Throw Shifter and it was a big improvement over stock. I topped it with a Whalen **** and that made it perfect. Randy Webb just installed a 15% pulley on my car last month. You are going to love the pulley. When you go to the pulley party plan on staying. I stayed all day and Randy's tip and stories just kept getting better. He answered every question I had and now he will be the only person I shop with.

cargo net for your boot.

because when you're flying around your parking lot, it sucks to have crap hit you in the head.

otherwise, i'd go with wheels/tires, or just tires. Not that i would know though. i still have my stock wheels with diff tires.

and dont buy that cargo net from mini. go cheapo and go to walmart and buy some bungie webbing. 4 dorrar.

if you live in crappy weather area, go with BFgoodrich traction T/A's. they are quite nice.

I too recommend a cat-back exhaust. However, I'd try to listen to various makes prior to purchasing so as to have a more informed decision. One man's melody is another man's pain. Some exhausts are known to "drone" at certain rpms, while others just kind of sound too racy/ricey for most potential owners. I would recommend stainless steel for its durability, but then again stainless has a different sound than mild steel. On another of my cars, I scrapped the stainless exhaust for a mild steel one because I couldn't stand the sound from the stainless system. Even though the new exhaust is less durable, I'm much happier with it than I was before. Spend some time and check out the different sounds from other MINIs in your area, or in the very least, some of the sounds recorded and listed on this site and some of the vendor sites.

Make sure your head is nowhere near the trajectory of the ****, grab stock **** firmly, yank upwards, do not twist.

you might go blind

Yes, it pops off. It's held on by spring pressure, of sorts.

Rule of thumb when modding a supercharged engine is to always do the pulley, intake, and exhaust before anything else...that's where you'll get the most base power increase from with those mods alone...then do the ECU/PCM, any tranny upgrades you want, whether it's just a short shifter, a flywheel, clutch, etc....I may be new to Minis, but I'm not new to superchargers, that's for sure You've got the pulley and intake already, get the exhaust out of the way next, then worry about the others...suspension should be on your list as well for overall performance along with all the other stuff already mentioned. Then your life will be complete, you'll start getting new, better jobs, big busty hourglass women, and hell, you might even win the lottery...
