MANIC Terrible service

Good morning and sorry for the rant but it's been almost 4 months and I hope someone at Manic sees this post. I got a stage III upgrade 4 months ago from my local Manic dealer and the when I installed the ECU and took it for a drive my CEL turned on warning high emissions, even though I specifically told them I was running catless. When I did a WOT pull the ecu was constantly cutting back boost making it virtually un drivable at WOT. When I reported the issue to my dealer (Moises Wasserman) he kept making me promises about him coming to personally fix my issue and that never happened and now he doesnt answers me. I tried contacting Manic which is impossible now and opened a ticket 3 months ago which obviously no one answered either. Im certain that im screwed but if this helps anyone, stay away from this guys, their after sales dept SUCKS.

BTW who would anyone recommend to tune my hybrid 47mm turbo mini?

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your frustration. I do Manic for stage 1 or 2 but 95% of my business is using RPM Power software. Manic has had some issues for over a year now, and Im not sure what’s they are doing.
I can help you if you want to PM me your cell.
I’m pretty sure I can help you

I have complete confidence in Chris Gerber, he owns G3 Automotive Solutions in Raleigh NC.....give him a call, he's a straight shooter, very pleasant to deal with.

Get in touch with Mario. If customer service is important to you, which it obviously is, you won’t be disappointed. I have an RPM stage 3 tune by Mario, I am totally happy with the product and his service.

*just wanted to add: With the options you have available using RPM.. it Really Puts Manic to shame in comparison. Also - they are STILL developing for R56 platform.. where is Manic dev @? (hasnt changed for +5yrs..?)

manic was no longer supporting
stage 3 tunes
I believe it says right on the website
we had a thread going
about it
manic is just a cookie cuter tune
nothing special about it
&
they way over charge .
most of the companies
offering manic can’t even tell you what the tune does .
For example
It took me alimost
a year to get my car running half way right
after putting a stage 3 tune
on the ecu,
the company I got my tune from
told me 91* would work
got the ecu back they had put a stage 2 sticker on it
an it sad 93* fuel map
so I ask them about it
they told me it was just a typo
dont worry about it there was a stage 3 map C on it
so I put the ecm in took it for a
test drive an thing
over 3500 rpms
was gettin detonation
so I called them up told them what
was going on’
they told me it was my plugs
an i was new to minis when this was going down
but I had some spidy season kickn in
I’m a mechanic by trade
i was already like yeh I smell some ********
Ended up getting the plugs
in the mail,
put them in an the car wouldn’t even start ,
put the oem stock plugs back in
&
it started right up.
So I called them back an told them the car
wouldn’t even start
with there plugs I want my money back,
then they told me you’re most like have a problem with the car it’s self
gave me a bunch of ********
so I ended up just saying go fly a kit ,
did a little digging
on the forums
got a DashCmd
&
1422 plugs
started doing data logging
could see the car was leaning under wot
put some 110* racefuel in it
guess what it fix the problem hahahah
found a gas station that had 93*
want right back to having problems under wot
ended up getting a meth kit
91 an 100% meth does the trick
it was a hell of a process
trying to figure it all out
especially sense ever one was blaming
fuel pumps an etc.

They have corner the market
is what it is
Sensen then
I’ve completely rebuilt my motor
from the ground up
putting in a new standalone as we speak ,

the best east thing you can do is talk with people on
the forums
most likely have better luck am sure
other people have had the same problem
that’s how I was able to firuge my stuff out

You will be happy going through him. Just look him up, there are reviews on this site. He appears to be one of the few that are here on the forums and are not hard to contact once the tune is done. He stands behind his products and you can’t ask for much more than that. Good luck

I had MANIC in my 2012 cooper s stage 1 and I was very good and strong, now I bought a JCW N18 and I put JB plus while I see the MANIC, because for chile they have not responded for some stage 3 projects

What other tuning will be as good or better than MANIC?

regards

I have a 2009 clubman jcw with a stage 2 manic tune. I was wanting to do a stage 3 tune but manic apparently doesn't offer them anymore. How does the stage 3 RPM tune compare to the manic stage 3? How much would a stage 3 RPM tune be? What upgrades are needed for a stage 3 RPM?

Mario’s done it again. Waiting for payday to come and get my tune ordered. Did you switch to RPM or kept the MANIC?

Hey Romero,
Im glad your MINI is finally up and running strong now.

Thank you for trusting me and I’m sorry your first experience with that other place wasn’t a good one. Let me know if you have any questions on your MINI or Audi.
Thanks again
Mario

He wine with RPM Power for a few reasons, one being that Manic doesn’t do Stage 3 any more
