My windshield started making some terrible wind noise at 70MPH, and by 80MPH it was accomapnied by a high pitched whistle. At 90MPH, I can hear it over the Harmon Kardon system at full volume.

I took it to the dealer and they told me the windshield had slipped down and needed to be cut off and glued back on. They did it. Noise was gone.

Two weeks later, it came back same as before. Then, it went away. So, now, it's intermittent, but when it happens it sticks around for awhile.

I took it back to the dealer. They're going to cut the windshield off and put it back on again. This is getting a little ridiculous. I've only had the Cooper S since July of 2003.

Has anyone else had this same problem?

 

Tell them they tried once and it didn't work. What you need is one of the new improved MINI windshields. They cut the windshield off and glued it back?

Yeah, I had that happen.What I found was the upper molding strip had delaminated from the windshield ,allowing air to circulate behind it .Dealer installed a NEW one ,problem solved.Good luck

 

Yeah, I'd tell them one try is enough. Replace the windshield and make it right. Good luck!
