Anyone have the B&M short shifter?

If so, how is it?

That might be my next purchase.

I have the B&M in my MINI Cooper, with a Racing Dynamics shift **** on it. Very, very nice shifter. Shifts are smooth and positive, none of that softness going into gears. And the stick itself is shorter along with the throw, which for me is a good thing because I have long arms. It was one of my better updates to be sure! Now I am thinking about getting one for my Z3 coupe!

Did you install it yourself? Was it difficult/time-consuming?

I have the B&M shifter and like it alot. I installed it myself and it's not too difficult. You do have to raise the car and disconnect the exhaust to get to the Shift box. You have to install the shifter from under the car so it maybe more difficult than you think if you were expecting to be able to do it while sitting in the front seat like you can do with some short shift kits on other cars. Very good mod and if I were to do it again it would be the first thing I'd do!

B&M

This is worth doing. The shifts are positive and the parts are better than the Oem. The hardest for me was unsnaping the cables. I had to use a screw driver and a crowbar as place to lever the screwdriver. The other hard part was the taking the stock stick out of the shifter assembly. Take your time! I have a 2002 MCS and the parts are plastic in the shifter assembly. It also helps to have a helping hand in doing anything.

I have a Whalen Shift Machine due in. I can;t wait to feel the difference is with this shifter and ****.

I was thrilled with how much more precise the B&M made my shifting. My
Whalen shift **** made it even better!

I have a B&M short shifter with a Whalen **** and i think it is awesome! Kind of an expensive combo espically since i paid about $150 for install but I would never go back to that regular **** and shifter.

Yeah, I just realized they don't actually make the B&M for my '04. They're working on it, right?
