MTH chiptuning cables in your area
Hi everybody,
I am posting this thread based on the idea I saw on the German Mini2IG.de forum. They came up with a list with members that have the cable adn are willing to do the up and download to others in their area.
For infos on the MTH flash itself please see this thread:

I want to keep this one only for cable location infos.
So I was thinking we could do the same to keep cost down or if someone needs something done fast. I will try to keep post #1 updated as good as I can.
So either post a reply or PM me with your Country, State/Province, City or area and if you are a member of a Mini Club. Then members of NAM would be able to PM or email you to ask for help.

I've got the laptop. I've got the cable. Let's set up the party!
This literally takes 5 minutes to do. The only issue is that it will be two trips. One for the download. Then one for the upload. The file needs to go to Franz for modification in between.

I ordered the Canadian cable. Waiting for it to arrive, hopefully in a week. I will not be using a laptop, I'll move a PC into my garage to do the flash. At least that's my plan right now. Things might change if it's too much hassle, I can always borrow a laptop from work. I live in Sunnyvale, California.

Hey AlexN,
I was wondering, I'm going to help someone with the MTH upgrade, I am planning to use my computer and cable. My question is can I use my registered Cartune software to upload another MINI's ECU information then send the files to Franz. Or will I have to install the other MINI's Cartune software to do everything.
I pretty sure I'll have to install the other Cartune software to flash the other MINI, or not???

You will have to go through the same process of registering the person as a user then use their username and password to download a copy of the software which allows you to generate the key. the only reason to do this is to get a key for their car using their VIn number, once this is accomplished just use your software and their key to flash their MINI. Make sure to name their .org and .mim file different from yours.

you can use your CarTune version. You do need to use his version that he will get. The only thing you really need is a new Key-Code that is generated from his VIN.
I believe Franz changed his website and all new customers will get Cartune with a free Key-Code. But all you really need is the Key-Code to upload to another car.
