What is the definite cost? And does it look like a stock system (the Dinan look) or is it as flashy as the Alta...

I'm guessing a sub $600 price, eh?
I'm also guessing "air gain" is some sort of Bernoulli draw to suck in more air...like those vacuum cleaners that work from compressed air streams.
I know M7 mkes a larger throttle body; how does this work with the new system?

Love your thinking but no Bernoulli, I did look at the possibility but it does not work in the low pressure enviroment of an intake....sorry

Yes our 62 mm TB works with the system, and we will have a stage 3 kit
with the TB, an extra heat shield for some of the tubing and a aluminum
plate to cover the ugly hole that's left from the stock intake. All at a surprisingly low price.

Still nothing on the web but advanced PR

I keep looking to the M7 site, and nothing since 10/21. I'm looking into a pully as well, and am leaning to the helix 17 mm. I was hoping to read more of M7s offerings before I buy. But it's only a month since the teaser.....

Man you guys are killing me.....

The latest on the M7-AGS, got a call from the factory yesterday, and the good news is that two of the three parts that are molded are done on Wednesday.
The third and final (heat sheild) is done on Tuesday next week.
We are doing some extensive testing, ie flow testing, dyno testing and a installation video/ PDF printable "how to".
And then.........SHOWTIME

If all goes well with fit and finishing (Wed and next Tue), these should be ready well before Christmas...

I'm under the impression that this item should find itself under a few trees .

Yes the.......... "Air Gain System"

Most of the molded parts are now in our hands, and it does look
very...special

Things are looking good scheduling wise, and we will have tons of comparison data of competing designs and systems.

Hang tight for more.

I must admit that when I first heard of this new development from M7 a month ago, I had tried very hard not to learn more as I had already commited substantial funds towards another of their fine product. I didn't want to get tempted knowing that I would give in This morning, I had a nice chat with Peter and was pleasantly surprised to find that I will have the opportunity to evaluate his Air Gain System in a week or so chant with me...Stop snowing...stop snowing I have no idea what it looks like but it sounds VERY inovative in design and construction...unlike anything I've seen in the market to date. Now I'm sittin on pins and needles in anticipation You guys know about as much as I do at this point...except the fortunate few who have actually "seen" the system.

I believe the theory of operation of the "Air Gain" intake is this:

Create a buzz of hype in the MINI community, which causes a low pressure area in the intake (a mini black hole if you will), which sucks the air right into the engine! The first hype-driven intake!

Just curious, but why do you thank me publicly here, yet call my friends to try to keep me from replying to threads involving you? If you would prefer I don't reply to your threads, why don't you just post that request here?

Buzz, hpye or whatever one wants to call it is all over the place. Being a sports fan, it's prevalent big-time, and many love the build-up. Sometimes I do, other times I don't...

When it comes to mods, I personally want to know what projects are being worked upon so I can decide if waiting is worthwhile or not. If a future mod might be "better," maybe some folks won't mind waiting a few weeks to see. And if something new will impact other mods, or makes others obsolete, I don't want to drop money on something that I will only use for a short time. From a planning perspective, such insight is favorable.

I held-off on getting an IC and some proposed SC work done primarily because we were informed that a SC replacement, and a specially designed IC were in the future plans. I put those spared funds somewhere else more independent of such power-enchancing mods (braking & suspension). Buzz or hype to some... I see it as information to use as one sees fit, and then make decisions accordingly.

Whether started by the vendor, or others, we've seen discussions (threads started here on NAM/MCO) about items long before they ever hit the market; and some never were released. These products run the gamut from intakes, to engine internals, cooling items, exhausts and software (slam dunk winner with 2 years of pre-release banter) and have been associated with virtually all of our tuners/vendors...

If the vendors don't deliver, with repeated offenses, they will pay the price with lost credibility and in-turn with future sales. It behooves them to deliver after such a commitment. From the consumer's stand-point, at least for me, I want the 411. And if the product or vendor doesn't interest me for whatever reason, then the dialog won't either, I click elsewhere...

This product interests me very much, and she is almost ready! If all goes well this Sat, production begins on Monday .
