WMW A/C Delete Pulley

Sorry for yet another question guys! I did a search on here and wasn't all that satisfied with the results so I figured I would ask for some real world experience.

My Mini is not DDed, and I enjoy it because it is quick, handles great, and I can drive it a little rough and it just keeps kicking. The question is this... I had recall work done on my power steering today ($2400 that I didn't have to pay, WOO HOO), but they said my AC Compressor/Compressor Clutch was going out. Guy quoted me $1600 for the job. NO THANKS!

I don't use the A/C in my Mini anyway, so I am curious if anyone has experience with the WMW A/C delete pulley. I haven't done my super charger pulley, but that is next on the list. Leaning towards a 16% since I don't track it, but may end up at least once. Curious about which belts are needed with the delete pulley, or if a normal belt the SC pulley size is used? Also, just any feedback/opinions about people who are running the delete and what they have experienced.

Thanks everyone for chiming in and talking to me today about the various posts I've made. Its a fun community to be apart of.

Not sure of your year and model but we do offer an AC delete for the R52 and 53.

This idler pulley will replace the AC compressor and bolt right in to preserve the serpentine belt routing.

I have the factory delete idler, same belt. If you do remove your A/C, get your system emptied at a shop with the proper equipment.

If you remove the whole thing (hoses included), be sure to leave the A/C pressure sensor (on the hose by the air box) plugged. You just unscrew it and plug it back and zip tie it somewhere, otherwise your radiator fan will work non stop when the car is on.

Sorry. The car is a 2005 Copper S.

I would definitely want to remove the lines and stuff as there would be no reason for them to be there and be in the way of things.

What do you mean by the factory delete idler? Is that the same as what WMW is selling?

It deletes the A/C system. Not sure what WMW is selling but unfortunately we don't have this for your model

WMW website seems to be down for me, but are you talking about the factory looking bracket or the billet machined one?

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=11_3394

It's actually a factory part for the non-A/C cars. I've seen a billet one not that long ago and I think it was from WMW. Anyway, they'll do the same job and it's burried down there, so shiny is not that important. Mine is a '05 S too, the only thing left from my A/C is the evap core and the button on the switch box. I'll remove the evap core once I have to mess under the dash. Everything else is in a box and will remain there. :p

If there is a cheaper route then I am all for it. How hard was it to remove all the additional components?

I basically pulled the front off, removed the upper rad hose and tilted the rad to have access to the compressor and removed the air box to remove the other hoses. I didn't plan on putting it back on, so I didn't really cared about it that much when taking the back ones out.

i have to remove the airbox and stuff anyway because i have power flex gear box mounts to install, and also a DT BPV to do as well. I have a feeling the car is going to be apart for a little while as I want to finally do my SC pulley as well.

The diameter of our A/C delete pulley is the same as the original A/C compressor pulley so you don't need a special belt to use it. Just the same belt you would use for your combo if you had A/C.

So let me ask you this... Is the walk through/DIY for removing all the AC parts? The car is gonna be up for a bit and I'd rather do everything in one shot.
