R50/53 Mini in snow
Well, first off, if you live in Carolina, it really shouldn't ne an issue unless you are in the mountains somewhere
But being a front wheel drive car should help a little bit. It is pretty light, so that takes a little away, but all in all I think that it would do well.

I own a honda civic dx 95' - this is low to the ground and front wheel drive. i understand that the cars weight may be a factor? But, besides that I don't think you should have a problem. Looking to receive my mini in MARCH 03'. I should know if any problems occur by then w/ info. on this board it should help!
The first MINI dealership that I was at, was talking with one sales guy there who has had their demo 'S' for awhile now, up in the mountains doing some snowboarding. He said it handled awesome. But the only drawback was I guess he had a little trouble fitting a couple boards and gear in the car. Other than that, he said it took on the snow like a dream.
I'm sure with the MINI's great handling and such, it wouldn't be a problem. With some winter tires, depending on how severe of a snow fall we're talking here, you'd be laughing. You'd be ready for the rally events.

I was told that with the front wheel drive and ASC it will be great in the snow. I was also talking to someone in Toronto who test drove an S in the snow, and he said it was very good.
