Tensioner stop recommendations

Can't find the one I ordered before, WMW has on backorder.
Any recommendations for one?
Looks like the Alta one is available, the more expensive one.

And contrary to what the instructions say, with flexible arms and a wrench you can get the stop on while the tensioner is on the motor without lifting the motor partially in the engine bay. I got it on during a belt change without lifting the engine or removing the tensioner.

It's worth mentioning that it prolly helps to have the tensioner with the tension off the belt. So grab the belt tool of you don't have one already

I have the belt removal tool, and spare belt, which I carry in vehicle at all times.
Accumulated quite a few tools with this vehicle; oxygen sensor tool, oil filter removal tool, brake caliper kit, Bentley manual, just about every torx size bit,....

At the risk of being a wet blanket, we've removed more tensioner stops than we've installed, because they cause more problems than they solve (limited tensioner movement, rattling and bending). The intention is to protect belt train components from damage if the belt breaks which is good, but belts rarely break. Instead get yourself a new, properly sized belt every 20-30k miles and you'll be good.

We have a tech article that can help you with the install on our site HERE. Click the "tech info" tab at top and then scroll down to Engine > Belt Tensioner Stop. We also have the tensioner stop HERE.

Been there, lost that - the design I had actually slid off and shredded my belt.

The newest tensioner comes with a rubber coating so it doesn't rattle. If installed correctly there shouldn't have been a chance to slip off. You have to take the bolt that holds it down almost all the way out in order for it to be high enough to slide it on. Unless your bolt comes loose it should be fine.

Put a new belt on every few years and don't worry about it

Agreed. I have an Alta on my car because at one time, i thought it was important, but i am OCD about the belt, so the tensioner stop is kinda pointless.

Unless my vibration damper disintigrates.....

Tensioner stops, as well as several other mods I've seen, are a solution in search of a problem...

I love that expression. One of my mentors would say it like this: If a tensioner stop is the answer, what is the question?
