'06 R53 questions

Hello, my name is Jon and I have a 2006 R53.
I am currently looking at 17% pulley, crank pulley, m7 coil pack/wires/2+ plugs, m7 airbox, and 2.5" exhaust.

with those mods, what would the "rough" Hp look like, and would I have to have my computer tuned, or would it correctly without a tune.

next, does anyone have any of those items for sale here before I buy new?

Also, I am willing to go to any thread and read, but I couldnt find the info I was looking for, so if there is a thread for any of this... please post it and i'll go look at it

thanks

Jon

Don't expect any horsepower improvement from your coil pack, wires, plugs, crank pulley (I assume you're not buying oversize), or really your exhaust. I'd guess +15-20hp from the pulley and maybe a couple more from the CAI. So I'd say you're looking at ~185 crank horsepower.

I wouldn't do an oversize crank pulley with a 17% pulley, at most 2%. You'd be forcing a lot more boost than normal into the engine, I think it's a bit risky. You'd have to talk to Way at WayMotorWorks or Jan from RMW to see what you can expect from a street tune.

I would suggest at most a 17% pulley or 15% with 2% crank.
For a crank pulley I would suggest a dampened pulley such as ATI.
One range colder plugs should be adequate.
Search the Marketplace forum for used parts.

I'd stay away from the crank pulley as well and go with the ATI too.

No one seemed to answer your question.

Since you haven't listed larger injectors, you're less likely to need a tune.
Given that...

Stock 2005-06 JCW will put down 184 whp (ish)
That kit includes: intake, injectors, [edit: slightly opened exhaust ports] head, JCW SC & pulley (some say its 11-12%), exhaust, "JCW 210" tune

So without the extra fuel you're likely going to be less than that (even with the larger than JCW SC pulley). In all reality all you're doing with that list is increasing the breathing a bit.

If you're going to run a reduction pulley on the SC 15-17% max, and if you're going to want to run an oversized crank pulley stick to a 15% SC pulley.

My experience with the M7 crank pulleys is that they come loose more than any other option on the market, I've removed multiple M7 crank pulleys that have nearly melted to the crank due to them coming loose. We only carry two options for aftermarket crank pulleys and that is the Craven solid pulley and -the ATI damper.

Save your money on the coil pack, stock coils will support more power than your car will make. Speculations has stated that they will support up to 450 HP.

But as was stated you'll only see about 15-20 HP with a pulley upgrade, and low to mid single digits from a quality exhaust.

Do some research and ask some questions before you jump into a setup that will leave you in a dilemma down the road. We'd be glad to help.
