So I had my car tuned by neuspeed and now when I do first through fourth gear pulls I get the drivetrain check engine light which cuts power I had a mechanic diagnose my car and he said that the ECU is reading too much boost? Is this a typical issue after getting a tune? I contacted the guy that tuned my car at neuspeed and he is going to retune my car and he said he will either have to lower the boost down or possibly raise the boost limit on the ECU? Have any of you guys heard of any issues like this after getting a tune? Thanks in advance!

While discussing a Manic tune with the rep, I was told that the ECU limit is raised to accommodate higher boost --- a big selling feature. I'm surprised your neuspeed tuner didn't take care of this for you when he tuned it. When I built my MCS 3 - 4 years ago, this "ECU boost limit" wasn't available to be changed --- or the tuner didn't want to mess with it. He suggested I find a "Fuel or Boost Cut Defender" which I'm currently using. Go with the ECU limit change --- big boost is great.
What kind of boost levels can the stock turbo handle? I am planning a stage two tune and want to get 250 to the crank (don't want any more so as to avoid swapping the internals). What is the stock boost limit? Whats the max the little turbo can handle?

I can't lie I am a bit disappointed with NEuspeed because it is a very big company it isnt even big it is flat out huge can't believe they missed that step but luckily I called them and they were very kind and very helpful about it all and are going to re-tune it for free on Monday I will give you guys an update after they do that. If I keep getting the check engine light I will send you a message to see where I can find myself a boost cut defender like you have that sounds like a great idea as a last case scenario.

That is a good question I am going to read into that right now and see what I can find out I thought we boost around 13 pounds so I'm assuming I am around 15 to 16 pounds but I have no idea don't want to assume until I have a boost gauge which I will be purchasing within the next week .
I have a scangaugeII which reads consistent boost levels for me (R56 N14, 61,500 miles) of 11-12lbs. I believe I saw up to 16-17 lbs while winding out 5th on the highway. Those levels were brief and fleeting though.
Just wanted to give you guys an update they re-flashed my ECU and all is fine now no check engine lights and it pulls just as hard very happy and they have great customer service!!!
There are a lot of people, myself included, running the Manic tune with sustained boost in the 18-20 psi range. I haven't heard of issues when staying in this range. I'm not saying that there haven't been any, I just haven't heard of any.
