Power Steering Issue

Hey, everyone! I'm new to the forum and new to Mini Coopers. I recently bought a 2002 and I'm having an issue with the power steering. When I turn the steering wheel while sitting idling, the engine bogs down and idles rough for 3 - 5 seconds. Sometimes it feels like it's going to stall (it never does). Unless someone tells me it's a Mini thing and normal, I'll assume it's a power steering pressure switch. Problem is, I can't find it's location. Anyone know? Thanks in advance!

Not an answer to you question but there is a recent recall associated with the Power Steering that you might want to look into.

I paid for a remanufactured pump for one of our R50's and put it in myself- this was before the extended warranty was issued. Never properly submitted the paperwork to get reimbursed. Assuming I will get a recall notice on this one, should I just shut up, play dumb and let them replace it with a new one?
