Jacking the oil pan ruin the gasket?

I have a WMW 15% and I'm thinking of swapping to a 17% since it's only my dd street car. I have an appointment to get my oil pan gasket replaced in two weeks and I'm concerned that jacking the engine up off the pan may ruin my new gasket. Should I just swap the pulley before the gasket is changed or am I being paranoid?

The motor isn't heavy enough to damage you gasket or oil pan. Motor and tranny in total I believe is like 500lbs and your only lifting a point of that not full weight.

Na it will be fine, we've been jacking them up for years on the oil pan. Last count put me at about 600 pulley installs

Well I guess I can wait until after to get a smaller pulley on there then. Thanks, congrats Way, that's a lot of pulleys!

Yeah that gasket will leak whether you jack on it or not!

Ha thanks that's reassuring, I hope the new one doesn't leak!
