R53 and AWD?? Could it be done?

Getreg built one back in '06 for testing so it can be done and it still look stock/OEM..

 

Why would you want one? I hope it's not for perceived performance benefits. There's more to great handling than simply making all 4 tires grab.

 

It would also be great during the winters in Iceland :-)

 

getrag had 5 units made for prototype, but I guess MINI said no, since it would ruin the characteristics of the car.


I think it would be a lot of fun in the snow. I would really like to see how that tranny setup was. and im sure its not a full 50/50 split, most likely a 70/30

Most cars that are AWD aren't a 50/50 split anyway..

 

With enough money anything is possible.
