Midification List

I have done a few modifications to my R55 and was wondering if anyone might have any idea on numbers I would expect from a dyno.

Your top HP rating will probably be the same. The HP increase will generally be lower in the power band. So on a Dyno, the top ratings will likely be the same.

Would FMIC make a difference to the top end?? Or is it mainly a tune that will increase the top number?

Not really. The FMIC is more of a power keeper. It keeps your vehicle from losing power due to heat soak. You might get a few HP, but nothing you'll feel really. The main contributor to power will be a Tune, followed by a catless or high flow Downpipe

Does a tune or the downpipe affect the overall dependability of the vehicle? This is my everyday driver, would like to get a little more power, but do not want to if would cost me dependability. I am at 50,000 miles on my R55 and just replaced the tensioner, and hope to get to at least 150,000 miles or more.

The downpipe doesn't hurt anything. However you will get a CEL unless you have a tune. A tune depends on who makes it. There are some unreliable ones out there. The Battle/DNA tune I'm running has proven very reliable so far.

What year R55 Do you have?

I have a 2010 Laurel Sport S. I am in the US. Who are the best tuners for Mini. I have seen the accessport, is that really worth it. Are there other better plug and play tuners?

There are a few tuners out there. AP is the only true "plug and play". However there are a couple others that are very close. What they lack in plug and play they gain in reliability and customization.

I'll link the threads.

Battle/DNA Tune Thread

Evolve tune Reviews

The Official ALTA AccessPORT Thread <----- This is no longer supported. So, if you have issues with the tune you're SOL.

Read through those. There will be mention of other tunes available as well. RMW is another example. There was a thread that explained the available tunes and type of tune it was, but I'm unable to locate it right now. Do some digging you might find it.

Another real good read for tunes and just about anything else you might do is here:
